DRYWALL / LATHER APPRENTICE PROGRAM. Section 1. The Employers and the Union, recognizing the need for a skilled work force, shall maintain a recognized and approved apprenticeship and education program. Said program will be organized and operated in full compliance with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇-▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Act of the State of California. Section 2. A local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee comprising equal representation from the employers and the Union shall administer the apprenticeship and training program in accordance with local working conditions and Article XII, Section 1 of this Agreement. The WWCCA shall appoint the employer representatives, and the Executive Secretary of the Regional Council shall appoint the labor representatives of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committees. Section 3. Employers shall contribute into the appropriate trust fund account an amount set forth in Article XX, Section 6 for each hour worked by all employees covered under this Agreement. Said contributions are to be used to fund the training program. Section 4. Wages, fringe benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment of apprentices and/or trainees shall be in accordance with this Agreement. Section 5. All monies collected by the Joint Adjustment Board as assessments, damages, or the like, in excess of the amounts needed to pay the necessary and reasonable expenses of the Joint Adjustment Board or the grievance procedure shall be transferred to the Apprenticeship and Training Trust Fund to be used solely and exclusively for the purposes specified in the Trust Agreement applicable thereto. Section 6. The parties to the Agreement herewith impose a mandatory duty on each employer to abide by the Apprenticeship Committee and approved under the provisions of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇- ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Act of the State of California. Section 7. The ratio of apprentices to journeymen shall be one (1) apprentice for the first two (2) journeymen after the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and an additional apprentice for every three (3) journeymen thereafter. Section 8. There is established by this Agreement a Southern California Drywall/Lather Apprentice Advisory Committee. This Advisory Committee shall be comprised of a management member, a labor member from the Joint Apprenticeship/Training Trust, a representative of the Western Wall and Ceiling Contractors Association, and a representative of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters.   • Adult Apprentices 26.1 Adult apprentices are apprentices who commence their apprenticeship at the age of 21 years or older. Adult apprentices engaged under any of the classifications set out in Appendix 1 and will be paid a minimum rate equal to the rate of pay for a second-year apprentice, for the first two years of the apprenticeship, then on parity with other apprentices for the third and fourth years.

  • Apprenticeship Program The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • APPRENTICES 6.36.1 The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that, if this Contract involves a dollar amount greater than or a number of working days greater than that specified in Labor Code Section 1777.5, this Contract is governed by the provisions of Labor Code Section 1777.5. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure compliance with this Article and with Labor Code Section 1777.5 for all apprenticeable occupations. 6.36.2 Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1777.5 if that Section applies to this Contract as indicated above, the Contractor and any subcontractors under him employing workers in any apprenticeable craft or trade in performing any work under this Contract shall apply to the applicable joint apprenticeship committee for a certificate approving the Contractor or subcontractor under the applicable apprenticeship standards and fixing the ratio of apprentices to journeymen employed in performing the work. 6.36.3 Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1777.5 if that Section applies to this Contract as indicated above, he Contractor and any subcontractor under him may be required to make contributions to the apprenticeship program. 6.36.4 The Contractor and all subcontractors under him shall comply with Labor Code Section 1777.6 which Section forbids certain discriminatory practices in the employment of apprentices.
