The Forklift Operation clause defines the rules and requirements for the safe and authorized use of forklifts within a facility or on a job site. – FORKLIFT OPERATION. Members of the bargaining unit may agree to be trained to operate the forklift. The District will determine how many members will be trained and available to do this work. Members who are designated to do forklift work shall be paid a stipend of $150 a month over the course of the year. Members will be selected based on seniority. Members are only allowed to operate the forklift to move equipment purchased by the Technology Department. Members who receive this stipend shall have forklift operation added to their job duties and will be available to move equipment as needed.
– FORKLIFT OPERATION. An employee must be competent in the following: • Operate the forklift equipment in a safe and efficient manner. • Ensure the equipment is always kept in a neat and tidy condition. • Completion of maintenance requests. • Basic plant maintenance. • Assist maintenance personnel with breakdowns and repairs if required. • Hold a High Risk Work Licence or equivalent to operate the forklift. • Refuelling the forklift using the mobile tanker or other means as required. • Complete a daily pre-start checklist, report, and time sheet.
– FORKLIFT OPERATION. A Forklift Allowance of $10 per week will be paid to every employee who has an appropriate certificate and who operates forklift as part of their normal work duties. This allowance will be indexed in line with annual wage increases contained in this Agreement. The Company will retain discretion regarding who is eligible for the Forklift Allowance and who is designated to receive forklift training in order to achieve the required certification to operate forklifts at Kewdale Flexibles. A worker required to work overtime for more than two hours, without being notified on the previous day or earlier that they will be so required to work, shall be supplied with a meal by the employer or paid $8.35 for a meal. If the amount of overtime required to be worked necessitates a second or subsequent meal, the employer shall, unless they have notified the workers concerned on the previous day or earlier that such a second or subsequent meal will also be required, provide such meals or pay an amount of $5.70 for each second or subsequent meal. No such payments need be made to workers living in the same locality as their workshops who can reasonably return home for such meals.
– FORKLIFT OPERATION. Members of the bargaining unit who are assigned to operate the forklift shall be paid a stipend of $500/month in any month the employee drives the forklift. The Association shall work with the supervisor to develop a list of employees who are trained in the use of the forklift.
