Common use of Holiday Pay for Part-Time Clause in Contracts

Holiday Pay for Part-Time. The employer will determine to pay the higher amount of the two calculations methods for Holiday Pay to part-time staff. Effective September 4, 2001, the calculation for Holiday pay is one-twentieth of the earnings (excluding overtime and premium pay) and the vacation pay of the previous 4 workweeks. The preceding method used to calculate holiday pay did not consider vacation pay on the previous 4 workweeks, but did considered a vacation period during the preceding period as earnings for the purposes of public holiday calculation. The following clause is part of our Letter of Intent for January 27, 2006 negotiations:
