Library Director Clause Samples
Library Director. “Library Director,” “Director, Library,” “Director of the Library,” “▇▇▇▇ of the Library” and “Director of the Learning Resource Center” shall each mean the person, bearing whatever title, who, not being a member of the bargaining unit, from time to time holds the position of Library Director at a University or who from time to time is authorized to act in that capacity, whether solely for the purposes of this Agreement or otherwise.
Library Director. 18 1. The Library Director shall be appointed and employed by the County of San 19 Mateo. Unless otherwise designated by the Governing Board and approved by the County 20 Representative, the Library Director shall have the duties and responsibilities of County Librarian 21 as provided for in State law.
22 2. The terms of employment shall be determined by the County and shall be 23 contained in a position classification.
24 3. Under the direction of the Governing Board, the Library Director 25 determines the scope and nature of library services and needed plans for the expansion and
Library Director. There shall be one (1) library director for the Library System, who shall attend the meeting of the regularly appointed Board and who shall serve said Board in an advisory capacity. The Library Director shall have such educational qualifications as are prescribed by the Mississippi Library Commission. The Library Director shall administer and establish procedures according to policies established by the Board of Trustees. His or her duties shall include: (a) employment of staff with the approval of the Board of Trustees; (b) prescription of staff duties; (c) removal of staff for cause; (d) preparation of the budget; (e) financial and statistical management; (f) reporting to the Board of Trustees; and (g) other acts necessary for the orderly and efficient administration of the library.
Library Director. If the grievance/appeal is not settled under step one and it concerns:
a. An interpretation or application of this Memorandum of Understanding;
b. A substandard performance evaluation;
c. Deferral or denial of a merit increase or a dispute about the number of steps granted;
d. A written reprimand;
e. A discharge of any regular, introductory, or extra help employee alleging discrimination; or
f. Any suspension or reduction of a regular employee; or
g. A discharge of a regular employee; it may be appealed in writing to the Library Director within seven (7) calendar days after mailing of the written decision from Step O e. Appeal of a suspension, and/or reduction, or discharge may be submitted in writing at Step Two within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the notice of suspension, reduction or discharge. Within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of the written grievance/appeal, the Library Director or his or her representative shall meet with the grievant/appellant. Within fourteen (14) calendar days thereafter, a written decision shall be given to the grievant/appellant.
Library Director. 7 1. The Library Director shall be appointed and employed by the County of San 8 Mateo. Unless otherwise designated by the Governing Board and approved by the County 9 Representative, the Library Director shall have the duties and responsibilities of County Librarian 10 as provided for in State law.
11 2. The terms of employment shall be determined by the County and shall be 12 contained in a position classification.
13 3. Under the direction of the Governing Board, the Library Director 14 determines the scope and nature of library services and needed plans for the expansion and
Library Director. The aggrieved employee shall present the matter informally to the Library Director or his/her designee for adjustment within ten (10) days ofthe occurrence or employee's first knowledge of the event givingrise to the grievance or said grievance shall be deemed waived and not subject to considerationin anyforum. The employee may havea Union representative present at this meeting. The Library Director shall reply within ten (10) days.
Library Director or designate means the person who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Library and is Staff Liaison with the Board.
Library Director. Section 1: The Library Director shall be selected pursuant to Article I of the Library Management Services Agreement (see Appendix A).
Section 2: In addition to other duties, the Library Director shall:
a. operate the library according to approved Board policies and the mission of the library,
b. advise the Board on all matters of library operation,
c. attend all Board meetings,
d. keep the Board informed of changes in library legislation and standards,
e. prepare the annual budget,
f. work with the Board to review the Library Policy Manual, and
g. work with the Board to fill Board vacancies, including reviewing Gloucester County Volunteer Data Bank applications, contacting potential candidates regarding availability and making recommendations with full board approval through the Board Chairperson or Staff Liaison to County Administration as needed. To move forward the name of a potential candidate to be considered at the first Board of Supervisors meeting of the month, the recommendation must be submitted to County Administration at least two (2) weeks before the meeting date.
Section 3: The Director shall present a report to the Board at each regular meeting and present the annual report at the December meeting.
Library Director. The Library Director shall be appointed by the Town Manager with the advice and consent of the TRUSTEES. Compensation for the Library Director shall be set by the Town Manager in consultation with the TRUSTEES. The compensation shall be consistent with the Town’s Pay and Classification System. An annual evaluation of the Library Director shall be completed by the Town Manager in consultation with the Library TRUSTEES and Library employees. The Manager shall be responsible for reviewing and updating the job description of the Library Director in consultation with the TRUSTEES on a periodic basis. The Library Director will be subject to the Town’s Personnel Policy and is a Department Head. The Library Director shall be included in all staff meetings at the Department Head level and other pertinent meetings as required.

17 2. The terms of employment shall be determined by the County and shall be 18 contained in a position classification.

Under the direction of the Governing Board, the Library Director 20 determines the scope and nature of library services and needed plans for the expansion 21 and modification of library services. The Library Director reports to the County on 22 administrative matters in accordance with the Staff Services Agreement.
