Common use of Maintenance Allowance Clause in Contracts

Maintenance Allowance. (a) Employees who are engaged to drive and operate plant and equipment and who are required, by Council, to carry out routine maintenance and/or running repairs, will be entitled to a Maintenance Allowance. (b) The allowance may be paid as a weekly or daily allowance as appropriate. The daily rate will be one fifth of the weekly allowance up to the maximum of the weekly allowance. (c) Plant and equipment which will attract the Maintenance Allowance include: I. Sludge/auto-educator II. Mechanical street sweeper III. Road/cleansing machine IV. Water flusher V. Excavator
