Helping also in maintenance areas as needed to maintain the operation and the performance of each piece of production equipment, or any piece of equipment that affects the plant's operation. Maintenance Helper. Effective October 1, 1979, the parties created a new position entitled “maintenance helper.” It is understood that the District will not utilize this position for the purpose of displacing maintenance employees. The position of maintenance helper will be manned in the following manner: (a) Custodial employees who wish to be considered for the position of “maintenance helper” may submit a letter of interest to the Superintendent for placement on an approved assignment list. Assignments will be made on the basis of (1) qualifications as presented in the letter and (2) seniority. The length of the assignment will be twelve (12) months. Maintenance helpers must fulfill the requirement(s) for the specific need(s) of the District. The length of assignment for Summer Maintenance Helper positions is at the discretion of the District. Job duties are identified in Appendix “B”. (b) Employees may only refuse an assignment if they are unable for justifiable reasons to do the job. If the refusal is justifiable, said employee shall maintain his relative position on the list and the next most senior qualified applicant shall be offered the job. The employee refusing such job shall be offered the next available job. (c) Maintenance employees will not be used as custodians except in emergencies. An emergency is defined as a condition affecting the ability to maintain and clean the building in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner. This emergency may result from weather, accidents resulting in damage to the property, or a shortage in personnel, which does not include absences resulting from vacations, personal days, or planned sick leave. (d) Employees may only refuse an assignment if they are unable for justifiable reasons to do the job. If the refusal is justifiable, said employee shall maintain his relative position on the list, rotated to the next most senior qualified applicant. Where practical, short-term assignments shall be grouped together so as to cause five (5) day assignments. (e) The Maintenance Helper will work a 2pm to 10pm shift during the winter sports season and revert back to the previous shift schedule at the end of the winter sports season.
Maintenance Helper. (FIRST YEAR) Shall have basic knowledge of the Mechanical Trades and be able to perform under supervision of the Maintenance Leader, Assistant Maintenance Leader or Building Engineer. He/she shall complete a low pressure boiler’s class within the first year of this classification and attain his/her license by the end of the fifteenth (15) month. He/she shall successfully complete one (1) adult education course selected from this group Heating & Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Masonry in each of the next two (2) succeeding years, to be eligible for hourly wage improvements, and to retain the classification.

  • Maintenance, Etc The Company will maintain, preserve and keep, and will cause each Consolidated Subsidiary to maintain, preserve and keep, its properties which are used in the conduct of its business (whether owned in fee or a leasehold interest) in good repair and working order, ordinary wear and tear excepted, and from time to time will make all necessary repairs, replacements and renewals as the Company may determine to be appropriate to the conduct of its business.

  • Routine Maintenance (i) CRC shall be responsible for Routine Maintenance when necessary or desirable to maintain the Shared Assets in a safe operating condition, and to permit and facilitate (A) the performance by CRC of its obligations pursuant to this Agreement, and (B) the use of Shared Assets by the Operators in accordance with this Agreement. (ii) CSXT or NSR, directly or through their respective affiliates, may perform the work which CRC performed prior to the date of this Agreement when (A) CRC does not possess the skills needed for such work, (B) CRC lacks the necessary employees to do such work in a timely fashion, or (C) CRC does not possess the equipment needed to do such work. CRC and the party performing the work shall agree to a reasonable fee for such work prior to performance. CRC, CSXT and NSR may agree to have additional work performed either by CSXT, NSR or their affiliates.

  • Maintenance Outages If Seller reasonably determines that it is necessary to schedule a Maintenance Outage, Seller shall notify Buyer of the proposed Maintenance Outage at least five (5) days before the outage begins (or such shorter period to which Buyer may reasonably consent in light of then existing conditions). Upon such notice, the Parties shall plan the Maintenance Outage to mutually accommodate the reasonable requirements of Seller and the service obligations of Buyer; provided, however, that, unless Buyer otherwise consents, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld, no Maintenance Outage may be scheduled between the hour ending 0700 through the hour ending 2200, Monday through Saturday, during the time period commencing on May 15 and concluding on September 15. Notice of a proposed Maintenance Outage shall include the expected start date and time of the outage, the amount of Capacity of the Facility that will not be available, and the expected completion date and time of the outage. Seller shall give Buyer notice of the Maintenance Outage as soon as Seller determines that the Maintenance Outage is necessary. Buyer shall promptly respond to such notice and may request reasonable modifications in the schedule for the outage. Seller shall use all reasonable efforts to comply with any request to modify the schedule for a Maintenance Outage. Seller shall notify Buyer of any subsequent changes in Capacity available to Buyer or any changes in the Maintenance Outage completion date and time. As soon as practicable, any notifications given orally shall be confirmed in writing. Seller shall take all reasonable measures and exercise its best efforts in accordance with Prudent Electrical Practices to minimize the frequency and duration of Maintenance Outages.

  • System Maintenance The Trust understands that USBFS will perform periodic maintenance to the System(s), which may cause temporary service interruptions. To the extent possible, USBFS shall notify the Trust of all planned outages and will perform any necessary maintenance during non-business hours.
