Observations and Evaluations. 7.01 Any classroom observation or evaluation of a Unit I member will be made in accordance with the following provisions:
A. All classroom observations of the teacher shall be conducted openly and with full knowledge of said teacher. Formal classroom observations assessing lesson execution shall be of at least thirty (30) minutes duration or the length of the instructional period, whichever is less.
B. Within ten (10) school days following any classroom observation, a conference will be held with the teacher.
C. Within a reasonable period of time following any conference relating to a classroom observation held pursuant to Section B above or following or during an evaluation conference, the teacher shall receive a written report. After the teacher has had an opportunity to review and sign the report, a copy will be made a part of the teacher’s personnel file. The teacher’s signature will not necessarily indicate agreement with the evaluation.
D. A reasonable spacing between classroom observations of teachers with multi-school or multi-discipline assignments will be attempted by evaluators.
E. Following any classroom observation that is rated less than satisfactory, the evaluator will make suggestions for improvement in the area(s) so rated.
F. Except in case of emergency, a teacher’s final evaluation for any year will be completed and a conference held no later than June 30 of that school year. In the event a teacher’s evaluation is not completed by that date, said evaluation shall be considered to be satisfactory.
G. Teachers will be notified of any formal allegations made against their conduct, character, performance, or personality if said allegations are to be recorded as a part of the teacher’s evaluation.
H. Teachers will be told of the areas which will be assessed in a classroom observation or formal evaluation.
I. Lesson Plans - The Board and the Association recognize the educational necessity of daily and long-term written plans. Except as required by specific program guidelines, the format for such plans will be determined by the teacher. During any instructional period, the teacher’s performance in the implementation of the lesson should provide observable evidence that the teacher’s plans are adequate. If, during the classroom observation of a teacher, there is a lack of observable evidence of adequate planning, as determined by the observer, the teacher may be required to develop detailed plans in the form requested by the observer for future ...
Observations and Evaluations. 1. Observations and evaluations shall be made in accordance with New Jersey Statutes and regulations.
2. Non-tenured teachers shall be evaluated in writing at least three times a year in accordance with Administrative Code; at least once prior to December 15 and again prior to April 30. Tenured teachers shall be evaluated in writing at least once during each year prior to May 31.
3. Observations shall take place at reasonable intervals prior to the prep- aration of the evaluation. Such reports shall be submitted to the staff member no later than ten (10) school days after the observation. All observations shall be completed before a new observation cycle may begin. Where the administration determines that repeated observa- tions are necessary before the completion of a cycle, the teacher shall be notified after the first observation and a meeting shall be initiated in which observed deficiencies are identified to the teacher and a re- medial plan shall be developed.
4. Observation/evaluations shall be coordinated for individuals who are shared between departments and/or Administrators.
5. Prior to the observation, teaching staff members shall be informed of the identity of their observers/evaluators.
6. A post conference shall follow an observation before a written docu- ment is produced.
7. A teacher has the right to a conference after receiving the initial writ- ten document of an observation/evaluation.
8. Teaching staff members shall have the right to respond in writing to observation/evaluation, which closes the report.
9. Teaching staff members shall have the right to Association represen- tation.
10. All official observation/evaluation documents, including the profes- sional improvement plans, shall be retained in the teacher’s permanent personnel file.
Observations and Evaluations. Observations and evaluations are completed in accordance with the district’s evaluation framework for professional practice and State Law. Employees may locate regulations and timeframes on the employee portal.
Observations and Evaluations. A. The person will be observed and written evaluation reports will be in accordance with Board policy governing teacher evaluation.
B. These observations and evaluation reports will be made by supervisors and shared in written form with the person being evaluated.
C. The supervisor will point out weaknesses, if any, and will point out ways in which teachers may improve.

1) Classroom observations may be conducted anytime during the school year.
2) Observations will be discussed with the teacher. The teacher should sign and will receive a copy of the observation notes.
3) Formal evaluations of teachers are conducted as needed in accordance with statute.
4) The formal evaluation(s) is written and discussed with the teacher. The evaluator is to inform the teacher of the section on the evaluation form where they may write their comments. The formal evaluation is signed by the administrator and the teacher or by a third party verifying the teacher received a copy of the evaluation. A copy of the evaluation is given to the teacher and a copy is filed in the personnel file.

The supervisor will use the standard district form for the evaluation.

Observations and Evaluations. 8.3.1 All monitoring or observation of the work performance of a teacher will be conducted openly, with full knowledge of the teacher.
8.3.2 Public address, audio systems, or similar surveillance devices shall not be used.
8.3.3 Teachers will be given a copy of any class visit report or evaluation report prepared by their supervisors at least one (1) day before the discussion conference.
8.3.4 No such report shall be submitted to central administration, placed in a teacher's file, or otherwise acted upon without a prior conference with the teacher and signature by the teacher to indicate he has read and understood it and had an opportunity to reply to it.
8.3.5 If a probationary teacher is not recommended for tenure, the provisions of Section 3031 of the Education Law shall be followed.
8.3.6 Probationary teachers will be notified of their reappointments for the succeeding year at least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the school year. A teacher will be informed of the Superintendent's recommendation as to the granting of tenure, at least ninety
8.3.7 It is a prime responsibility of the evaluators to assist the teacher to improve his teaching performance where evaluations indicate improvement is needed. A commitment of one
8.3.8 None of the above, in any way, shall prevent a teacher from filing a grievance under the terms of this Contract through the grievance procedure, or under the rulings of the Commissioner of Education, or under any State or Federal law applicable herein.

Observations and Evaluations. Either the Principal or Superintendent will make informal observations on an ongoing basis, through visits to classrooms and group counseling sessions. Feedback from these observations may result in “Informal Observation Notes” that will be shared with the teacher or counselor but will not be entered into the unit member’s personnel file. Either the Principal or Superintendent will conduct a formal evaluation of each unit member every year. A master copy of all evaluation forms will be provided to the Association. Each non-tenured unit member will be evaluated two (2) times per year. Tenured unit members will be evaluated one (1) time per year. A copy of the written evaluation will be provided to the unit member and the unit member will be given the opportunity to discuss the evaluation within fifteen (15) school days of the written evaluation date. A copy signed by unit member and evaluator shall be placed in the unit member’s personnel file.
