Options Considered Clause Samples
The "Options Considered" clause outlines the various alternatives that were evaluated before reaching a final decision or agreement. In practice, this clause typically lists the different methods, products, or strategies that were reviewed, and may briefly explain why each was not selected. Its core function is to demonstrate due diligence and transparency in the decision-making process, helping to justify the chosen course of action and providing a record that can be referenced if the decision is later questioned.

Options Considered. Option 1: Cease funding and withdraw from the partnership.
5.1 The Council can of course cease all funding and withdraw from the Partnership which is likely to result in the closing of the Partnership and the cessation of the work it carries out. This is not considered a viable option without putting in place a replacement for those elements of essential work carried out by the Partnership on Council owned land or without increased resources for Council officers to engage others on projects currently being implemented by the Partnership.
5.2 The Council has a Statutory Duty to manage the Local Nature Reserves which were declared under Section 10 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and should management deteriorate on these or any public site that the KHWP assist with as a result of the closure of the Partnership then issues around safety, anti-social behaviour and access may arise on those sites requiring an immediate commitment of resources or closure.
5.3 This option is not considered further here as it is beyond the scope of this report and would require considerable resources and time to consider properly.
Options Considered. 12.1 None as it is considered that the Council along with the other WCAs has to intrinsically support the provision of long term waste treatment facilities in the County to meet the targets set by the Government's Strategy and Waste and the EC Directives.
Options Considered. 3.1 TWBC implement PR2 enforcement on behalf of KCC accepting responsibility of all implementation and operational costs, but retaining any proceeds of enforcement.
3.2 Not implement enforcement of PR2 for KCC. This would be unsafe for pedestrians as the scheme design assumes that only buses, taxis and cycles will pass through between 9 am and 6 pm daily. It would also not achieve the ambition of the Corporate Plan, which was to enhance the public realm in the town centre of Tunbridge ▇▇▇▇▇ and to provide a distinctive community space for residents and visitors.
Options Considered. As projects delivered through the IAA are for the benefit of all authorities and must be maintained for at least a 100-year period, there is a potential financial liability for authorities confirmed within the agreement.
Options Considered. Since I became Chair of the Department of Comparative Literature and Languages in July 2017, we have experience significant scheduling challenges in relation to our lower-division language courses. In order to coordinate our language courses with the majors to which they are related (for example, the Japanese major requires that students take courses in Japanese language, literature, and culture; the same is the case for our majors and minors in German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, and others), each language program is coordinated by a Senate faculty member, who is responsible for allocating teaching roles and proposing course schedules for Lecturers on a quarterly basis. Historically, this has meant that our Department has forwarded a schedule of courses for each language program, which is collated, along with the language courses in the Hispanic Studies Department, by the Enrollment Manager and, then, Registrar. In my experience as Chair, each quarter, after the Registrar would run the scheduling algorithm, a number of lower-division language courses in the Department of Comparative Literature and Languages would be returned to us as unschedulable, after first, second, and third time-slot options had been taken into account. This would then lead to the quite unenviable situation, where 5 or 6 lecturers needed to change their course schedules one quarter in advance of the time when that schedule was to be implemented; this led to massive complications, the reorganization of program teaching schedules, the collapse of sections—and event that has long-term program enrollment consequences—and other undesirable outcomes; it is this quandary which led me to re-think our approach to scheduling these courses in general. To re-think scheduling in this way, I met, on several occasions, and for some duration in each instance, with ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (Director of Enrollment Management), ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (Advisor Supervisor), and ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (Enrollment Manager). The consensus that we reached was that each Department in question—Comparative Literature and Languages and Hispanic Studies— should assume complete control over the scheduling of the 8 language teaching rooms. At that time, ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ studied the enrollment histories of both Departments over a 5-year period, and determined that, historically, Comparative Literature and Languages has offered approximately 50 lower-division language courses per quarter, and Hispanic Studies, 30. Based upon this information, the two D...
