ORDER OF PRECEDENCE OF DOCUMENTS Clause Samples
The "Order of Precedence of Documents" clause establishes a hierarchy among the various documents that make up a contract, specifying which document's terms will prevail in the event of a conflict or inconsistency. For example, if the main agreement, appendices, and schedules contain differing terms on the same subject, this clause dictates which document's provisions take priority. Its core practical function is to prevent disputes and confusion by providing a clear method for resolving contradictions within the contract documentation.
