Phone Allowance. Employees who use a cell phone in the course of employment may claim $25.00 per month on their monthly expenses towards the cost of their cell phone and $50.00 per month on their monthly expenses for a smart phone/blackberry. Proof of purchase plan is required.

Phone Allowance. The Company and Union recognize that the use of “Smart Phone” technology in the workplace can potentially enhance productivity and be of benefit to both the employee and the company. Because of this, the company is authorizing a voluntary allowance provided on a monthly basis of $25.00 for employees who maintain a “Smart Phone.” The company will determine classifications that are authorized to receive this special “Smart Phone” allowance. The City shall provide $100 per month for phone allowance to employees for the use of their personal cell phone for work related calls. Exempt from this provision would be individuals listed above in Article 19, paragraph 1.
