PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. B. 20.1. Placement of each teacher upon the schedule shall be in accordance with the teacher's qualifications as most recently determined by either the Teacher Qualification Service or the Teacher Regulation Branch and experience as determined in accordance with this Collective Agreement.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. 1. Except as otherwise provided, the placement of each teacher upon the schedule shall be in accordance with the teacher's qualifications as most recently determined by the Teacher Qualification Service. 2. Persons holding a Permanent Vocational Instructor's Certificate shall be placed on Category 4 of the salary scale, on the step determined by their recognized years of experience. 3. Persons holding a Letter of Permission shall be placed on the first step of Category 4. The Board shall inform the Association in writing of its intention to apply for a Letter of Permission.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. 1. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, the placement of a teacher upon the schedule shall be in accordance with the teacher’s qualifications as most recently determined by the Teacher Qualification Service as herein provided together with the teacher’s experience as determined in accordance with Article B.14 of this Agreement. 2. If the most recent qualification of the teacher was determined by the Registrar of the Ministry of Education as being either PC, PB or PA Certificate, then placement upon the Schedule shall be according to that certificate on the basis of EC, EB, EA, PC = Category 4, PB = Category 5, and PA = Category 6. Those teachers on EB who are at maximum shall go to EA, Category 4, Step 7 effective September 1, 1990, and progress therefrom. 3. If the most recent qualification of the teacher was determined by the Registrar of the Ministry of Education or the Registrar of the Teacher Regulation Branch as being either a teaching license, standard certificate, or professional certificate, then placement upon the schedule shall be on the basis of a Teaching License or Standard Certificate = Category 4, and a Professional Certificate = Category 5. Teachers who claim they should be paid at a higher category shall make application to the Teacher Qualification Service for review of their qualifications. Higher placement on the salary schedule shall be effective with the date on the Teacher Qualification card. In the case of first-year teachers waiting for certification issued from out of province, they shall be paid retroactively the category that the Teacher Qualification Service assigns, regardless of the date on the Teacher Qualification Service card, provided that the employee makes the applications consistent with the timelines in Article B.24.2, Article B.24.3, and Article B.24.4. 4. Holders of Letters of Permission (LP) shall not be placed above Category 4 unless the teacher demonstrates that they have five (5) years of education or formal training or a combination thereof beyond grade 12, in which case they will be placed in Category 5. 5. At the time of appointment, the Board shall advise the employee in writing of the documentation required to establish initial scale placement. Such documentation shall be submitted as soon as possible without delay. PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. General 1. At the time of appointment, the Employer shall advise the teacher, in writing, of the documentation required to establish initial scale placement. 2. Each teacher shall submit all documentation required by the Employer to establish salary placement. Such documentation shall be submitted within three months of commencement of employment or change in categorization or certification. The teacher shall be responsible for advising the Employer, in writing, if delays which occur in obtaining the documentation necessitate an extension of the time limits. 3. The Employer shall not refuse a request for extension of the time limits, provided that the delay is not the fault of the teacher. 4. The Employer shall notify the teacher, in writing, of the category and experience placement that has been assigned. 5. Upon receipt of documentation which establishes a salary category different from that in which the employee was initially placed, a salary adjustment shall be effective retroactive to the effective date of the revised placement.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. 1. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, the placement of each teacher upon the salary schedule shall be in accordance with the Teachers Qualification Service Category Schedule. The salary schedule is a basic scale however, and the Board reserves the right to pay any teacher a salary higher than that provided in the schedule pursuant to Article A.2 - Recognition of Union. 2. If, through no fault of her own, a teacher new to British Columbia does not have her salary category established when beginning teaching in this district, a salary adjustment shall be made retroactive to the beginning of employment in this district if such is necessary based on documentation received from the Teachers Qualification Service.

Placement on the salary grid shall be determined in accordance with the category assigned by the Teacher Qualification Service (subject to Article B.20.1 of this Agreement and in accordance with years of experience as determined by Article B.21.2) of this Agreement. b. At the time of appointment, the Board shall advise the teacher, in writing, of the documentation required to establish initial scale placement, the requirement to advise the Board if any delay is expected in meeting the deadlines and the procedures for redesignation and appeal of any decision with respect to scale placement. c. Within three (3) months of appointment to the District, each teacher shall submit all documentation required by the Board to the Director of Instruction or Designate to establish salary placement. Upon appointment, each teacher shall be advised by the Board of documentation required. d. The teacher shall be responsible for advising the Board, in writing, if unavoidable delays in obtaining the documentation necessitate an extension of the time limit and shall request an extension. e. The Board shall grant a request for extension of the time limits where there are reasonable grounds for the request. f. Each teacher appointed to the District will be placed on grid at Category 4 step zero experience until all documentation is provided to the Board. The Board's responsibility for retroactive pay in the event of late submission of documentation is limited to the school year in which such documentation is submitted. g. In the event a teacher's qualifications change in a way which affects placement on the grid, they shall submit to the Director of Instruction or Designate the necessary documentation and a request for change of grid placement forthwith. The Board's responsibility in implementing any resulting change in grid placement is limited to the school year in which such documentation and request is submitted. h. The Board shall notify the teacher, in writing, of the category and experience placement that has been assigned. i. In the event that a teacher wishes to appeal their placement on the salary scale, for category and/or experience, the teacher must apply in writing to the Salary Grid Placement Committee for adjustment. In the event that the matter is not satisfactorily resolved and the teacher wishes to appeal further, the grievance procedure, as outlined in Article A.6 of this contract will apply. Verification is the responsibility of the employee. 2. At the time of appointment, the Employer shall advise the employee, in writing, of the documentation required to establish initial scale placement. 3. Each employee shall submit all documentation required by the Employer to establish salary placement. Such documentation shall be submitted within three (3) months of commencement of employment or change in categorization or certification. PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. Newly employed members who have had outside teaching experience or work experience related to their teaching assignment prior to their employment in District 129 may receive full credit on the salary schedule. Such determination shall be at the discretion of the Board. However, general administration procedures will be to place new staff on the salary schedule at BA1 and allow for lane movement of one lane per year until they reach their credentialed level. For newly hired members, credit will be given only for that experience realized after the Bachelor’s degree was earned and full member’s licensure was realized. A year’s credit on the salary schedule shall be granted for each year of military service to a maximum of two (2) years provided such military service interrupted the person’s teaching experience.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. The District shall place successful candidates for employment on the salary schedule on an appropriate step level based on the individual candidate’s education and job related experience. If the District assigns a candidate above the initial step level, the District will inform the Exclusive Representative of that placement. In the event an in-district employee is selected for employment within the bargaining unit, the probationary period for the position shall extend for ninety (90) days.
