The "Private Matter" clause defines certain issues or disputes as personal or internal to the parties involved, excluding them from the scope of the agreement or from formal dispute resolution processes. In practice, this means that disagreements or situations deemed "private matters" are not subject to arbitration, mediation, or legal action under the contract, and the parties are expected to resolve them independently. This clause helps to delineate which issues are governed by the contract and which are not, thereby preventing unnecessary escalation of personal or unrelated disputes and ensuring the agreement focuses only on relevant business matters.
Private Matter. The Employer agrees that all disciplinary procedures shall be carried out in a private and business-like manner. Any employee in disagreement with the action taken by the Employer may file a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure contained in this Agreement; with regard to disciplinary action, only reductions in pay, suspension, or discharge are appealable to the arbitration step of the grievance procedure.

  • Letter of Understanding Re Grievance Administration The central parties agree to develop a pilot project to assist the local parties with innovative and creative solutions to enhance grievance administration, such project could include regional review of grievances, regional mediation and/or regional panels of arbitrators. The parties will canvass their respective parties to elicit interest in participation in the project. The central parties agree to develop communication and promotional strategies regarding the best practices for professional development including identifying success stories; writing articles; and web-site application.
