Prohibited Discharges Sample Clauses
The Prohibited Discharges clause defines specific substances or materials that are not allowed to be released into certain environments, such as water systems, land, or air. It typically lists banned pollutants, chemicals, or waste products, and may outline the procedures for handling, storage, and disposal to prevent accidental releases. This clause serves to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to protect public health and ecosystems by preventing contamination and associated liabilities.
Prohibited Discharges. Wastewater haulers shall not discharge or cause to be discharged, directly or indirectly, sewage continuing industrial discharges or any substance as enumerated in section 14-73 of this Code as amended from time to time or any other substance prohibited by other city ordinances or any applicable state or federal regulation.

In addition, MWA and MMA each agree to take action necessary for the WMA to comply with all Control Agency Requirements.
Prohibited Discharges. Discharge of industrial waste into the sanitary sewer system, storm drainage system, surface ponds or ditches, or elsewhere is specifically prohibited, except as permitted by a valid Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit in strict accordance with Chapter 5.15 of the Newport Municipal Code and applicable state and federal laws as may be amended. Any waters or wastes containing toxic or poisonous solids, liquids or gases in sufficient quantity, either singly or by interaction with other wastes, to injure or interfere with any sewage treatment process, constitute a hazard to humans or animals, create a public nuisance, or create any hazard in the receiving waters of the sewage treatment plant, including but not limited to cyanides in excess of two (2) milligrams per liter as CN in the wastes as discharged to the public sewer.
Prohibited Discharges. It shall be unlawful, for any person or entity, including, but not limited to a commercial grease generator and/or a commercial/industrial grit generator, to introduce or cause to be introduced into a public sanitary sewer the following:

(b) petroleum based oil and grease wastes, and inorganic solids in concentrations greater that 200 milligrams per liter of water.
Prohibited Discharges. General Prohibitions. No User shall introduce or cause to be introduced into the Sewerage System or POTW: any Pollutant(s) or Wastewater which causes Pass-through or Interference. These general prohibitions and the specific prohibitions listed below in paragraph (b) of this Section apply to each User introducing Pollutants into the Sewerage System and the POTW whether or not the User is subject to other National Categorical Pretreatment Standards or any national, State, or local Pretreatment Requirements.

Prohibited Discharges. A. KLN shall not discharge or cause to be discharged to the Waste Water System or Plant any pollutants that are reasonably likely to cause pass through, or interfere with the Plant’s treatment technology, or cause a violation of the Permit.
B. Specifically, KLN shall not discharge or cause to be discharged any of the following described wastes or wastewater:
1) Stormwater, groundwater, or flow from roof runoff, subsurface drainage, downspouts, yard drains, yard fountain drains, swimming pools, or lawn sprays into any sanitary sewer. Stormwater and all other unpolluted drainage from KLN’s facility is governed by MPCA stormwater regulations.
2) Any liquid having a temperature higher than 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Centigrade). (Exceptions may be granted where it has been shown that the high temperature wastewater would not cause any significant problems at the Waste Water System or Plant.)
3) Any water or wastes which contain wax, grease or oil, plastic or other substance in excess of the applicable Base Load Limits that will solidify or become discernibly viscous at temperatures between 32 degrees to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
4) Any solids, liquids or gases which may cause fire or explosion hazards, or that may be injurious to persons, property, or the operator of Waste Water System or Plant, including, but not limited to waste streams with a closed cup flashpoint of not less than 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) using test methods specified in 40 CFR 261.21.
5) Any solids, slurries, or viscous substances in excess of the applicable Base Load Limits and in such volumes and of such character as to be capable of causing obstruction to the flow in Waste Water System or other interference with the proper operation of the Waste Water System or Plant, such as ashes, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, whole blood, manure, hair and fleshing's, entrails, lime slurry, lime residues, chemical residues, or bulk solids.
