Recognition of prior experience Clause Samples
The 'Recognition of prior experience' clause establishes that relevant previous work, education, or training will be acknowledged and credited within the context of the agreement. In practice, this means that an individual may be exempt from certain requirements, such as training modules or probationary periods, if they can demonstrate sufficient prior experience in a similar role or field. This clause ensures that individuals are not required to repeat tasks or training unnecessarily, streamlining onboarding processes and valuing existing expertise.
Recognition of prior experience. Where an applicant to a role has highly relevant previous experience (more cumulative experience than the minimum listed in the profile description), a commencement step of 2 or 3 could be agreed upon by the hiring manager / professional lead in consultation with the HR on the following basis: Two or more years more than the minimum experience referenced in the profile Step 2 4 or more years more than the minimum experience referenced in the profile Step 3

(a) Experience prior to a two (2) year lapse will not be recognized.

If the documentation is submitted after thirty (30) calendar days from their start date, such adjustments shall be effective the date the Employee submits documentation of their experience to the Employer.
Recognition of prior experience. The current procedures for recognition of prior experience will continue unless otherwise agreed to by the parties.
Recognition of prior experience. (a) For the purpose of establishing the Base Rate of Pay on hire for new employees hired after the date of ratification of this first agreement, the Employer may recognize up to ten (10) years of prior experience provided it is satisfactory to the Employer and not more than two (2) years have elapsed since such experience was obtained.
Recognition of prior experience. .1 In the best interest of the District, and in order to attract the best qualified candidate, the Board may grant up to 5-years’ salary experience to a first year employee for experience directly related to his/her new position in the District. The 5-year experience factor will be equal to $1.00 higher than the base wage at the time of employment. This will become effective for new employees hired after July 1, 2016. After the initial wage has been determined, the employee shall receive wage increases in accordance with any agreement which may then be in effect between the Board of Education and AFSCME. (pg. 4)
.2 Employees hired into a new or different position will be given credit for all years’ experience earned within the school district. This includes current employees. This benefit will not be retroactive prior to July 1, 2016 and will not exceed $3.00 higher than the base wage for each classification. It is the employee’s responsibility to work with the superintendent to ensure that the previous experience credit is issued.
Recognition of prior experience. Upon the employment by the Employer of a nurse who has had prior experience as a professional nurse (including prior experience as a professional nurse outside of the United States), either in some other hospital or during a period of prior employment in the Hospital, the Employer will review and evaluate the experience and qualifications of such nurse and assign such credit as the Employer deems reasonable to the previous experience of the nurse. For the purpose of classification of the nurse relating to salary, this credit will be considered as the equivalent of employment in the Hospital. Modify the sixth paragraph of Article 9(J) as follows with the rest of this section remaining the same. If a nurse who works a rotating schedule is assigned greater than 50% of his/her hours on the evening or night shifts for twelve (12) consecutive weeks or more, the nurse will receive the corresponding straight evening or straight night differential. For example, if a rotator is assigned 25 night shifts out of 48 total shifts during a 12-consecutive week period, such nurse would receive the straight night differential for these 25 work shifts. Add the following as a new paragraph #7 under Article 11(A), CPT Requirements:
Recognition of prior experience. The wage rate for new employees covered under this Agreement will provide credit for years of experience in the same classification as determined by the Hospital as follows. Wage levels credited on experience shall be reviewed with the new employee at the time of hire and the new employee shall be given a copy of the Personnel Action Form (PAF) at the employee’s request. Such credit shall commence on the date satisfactory proof is provided by the new employee of such prior experience. iv) For purposes of interpreting i) and ii), one year of experience is on the basis of 1596 hours worked.
(a) It shall be the responsibility of the nurse to provide proof of related experience on hiring in order to be considered for a salary increment on the salary grid and any dispute must be grieved within four (4) months from the date of hire. (Note: It is understood that, without acceptable documentation before the date of hire, a nurse will start at Level #1 (Start) until such time that acceptable documentation is provided.) Once verification has been received, the nurse will be paid the corrected amount with retroactive adjustments back to the original date of hire.
