Recognition Union Shop and Checkoff Sample Clauses

The 'Recognition, Union Shop and Checkoff' clause establishes the employer's formal acknowledgment of the union as the exclusive bargaining representative for a defined group of employees. It typically requires that all employees in the bargaining unit either join the union or pay equivalent dues (union shop), and authorizes the employer to automatically deduct union dues from employees' wages (checkoff). This clause ensures the union's role in representing employees is respected, streamlines the collection of union dues, and helps maintain union membership and financial stability.
