The "Rest Areas" clause establishes requirements for providing designated spaces where individuals can take breaks during work or travel. Typically, this clause outlines the location, accessibility, and minimum amenities—such as seating, shelter, or restroom facilities—that must be available in these areas. Its core function is to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of workers or travelers by mandating appropriate rest provisions, thereby reducing fatigue and promoting well-being.
Rest Areas. Lounges and/or other areas designated by principals as places where faculty and other staff may eat or rest, except teacher planning areas, shall be available to ESP employees for the same purpose. All ESPs shall have a secured area (i.e. locker/cabinet) with all day access to lock up personal belongings during their workday.
Rest Areas. Unit 16 employees shall be permitted to use existing break rooms or rest areas for rest periods if it does not involve a departmental additional cost; if it does not interfere with departmental business needs; if it does not involve areas restricted for health and safety reasons; or if it does not impact on patient health and safety. The departments shall endeavor to retain existing break rooms or rest areas unless the space becomes necessary for the conduct of State business. Unit 16 employees may identify and request specific alternative locations which allow them to be removed from their daily routine.

Where rest areas or break rooms are unavailable, Unit 20 employees may identify and request specific alternate locations, which allow them to be removed from their daily routine. C. At the Veterans Home and Department of Education's Special Schools, the departments will not schedule student or member activities in designated employee break rooms.

The State will retain existing break rooms or rest areas unless the space becomes necessary for the conduct of State business. Where rest areas or break rooms are unavailable, Unit 17 employees may identify and request specific alternative locations which allow them to be removed from their daily routine.
Rest Areas. The Employer shall provide adequate rest areas and restrooms for paraprofessional use, as well as access to lockable space for personal items.

Rest Areas. The Vendor shall notify IDOT in writing at the address in Article V.5.2 of this agreement ten (10) days prior to the placement of any newsracks at the above mentioned interstate highway rest areas. The Vendor may, from time to time, remove and/or replace newsracks, provided that notice is given to IDOT within ten (10) days of the change.
