Common use of Retaining Seniority Clause in Contracts

Retaining Seniority. (a) An Employee absent from work on an approved Leave of Absence without pay as defined in Article 13, shall retain and accumulate seniority during the period of absence. (b) An Employee absent from work on an approved Leave of Absence without pay except as defined in Clause 24.03 (a), shall retain but not accumulate seniority during the period of such absence.
