Section 8.7.1. 45 Seniority rights shall not apply with respect to promotions and filling of job assignment vacancies 47 student(s).
Section 8.7.1. Upon completion of the first (1st) year of service with the District, each two hundred twenty 13 (220) day employee shall be granted seven (7) workdays paid vacation per year. Upon 14 completion of the fifth (5th) year of service, each two hundred twenty (220) day employee shall 15 be granted one (1) paid vacation day for each year of service, to a maximum of fourteen (14) 16 days paid vacation per year. Notification requirements and operational needs of the District of 17 Section 8.7. shall apply.
Section 8.7.1. 9 When employees work additional time or assignments in their own general job classification, 10 they shall be compensated at no less than their regular rate of pay. Additional time or assignments 11 will first be offered to employees at the work site. A substitute may be assigned to the position 12 at the substitute rate when no regular employee is available.
Section 8.7.1 employee, if returning from a leave of absence necessitated by an illness or injury, will 17 be assigned to the position occupied before the leave of absence. Current employees shall be 18 allowed to move to such a leave of absence assignment (subject to the provisions of Section 9.6.1); 20 absence. 22 In instances where an employee must be on sick leave for forty-five (45) or more consecutive days of 23 work, a current employee may fill the position based upon the conditions stated above. At the 24 conclusion of the leave assignment, the employee will return to the employee's regular assignment. 25 New employees hired as a result of such leave of absence will be hired for a specific period of time 26 during which they shall be subject to all terms and conditions of this Agreement.

Current employees shall be 40 allowed to move to such a leave of absence assignment (subject to the provisions of Section 9.6.1); 41 provided, however, only one (1) employee may leave their regular assignment for each leave of 42 absence.
Section 8.7.1. If a leave of absence is requested due to an industrial accident or industrial illness, it shall be granted for a period of up to one (1) year. An employee may be granted a leave of absence for other reasons for a period not to exceed one (1) year upon recommendation of the immediate supervisor through administrative channels to the Superintendent and upon approval of the Board of Directors. If either of the above leave is granted due to an extended illness or injury, one (1) additional year may be granted at the discretion of the District.
Section 8.7.1. Failure by an employee to meet state or federal mandated requirements by the set deadline will 3 result in termination of employment with Walla Walla Public Schools. If an employee is 4 terminated under the Section, he/she will be allowed to enter the employment pool for other 5 open positions, but will lose all seniority rights for employment in the same bargaining unit.
