Section A. Seniority Definitions. For the purposes indicated below, seniority shall consist of the total number of continuous service hours of an employee in the State Classified employment. State Service shall be as recorded in the Human Resources Management Network (HRMN) Continuous Service Hours Counter; except that no hours paid in excess of eighty (80) in a bi-weekly pay period shall be credited. No hours shall be credited for time in non- career appointments, on lost time, suspension, leave of absence without pay (except military leaves of absence in accordance with federal statutes) or layoff except that school year employees in the Department of Education shall receive continuous service credit for the period of seasonal layoff. Employees off work due to compensable injuries or illness shall continue to accumulate seniority for the full period of illness or disability precisely as though they had been working.

Employees off work due to Union leave of absence, compensable injuries or illness shall continue to accumulate seniority for the full period of absence precisely as though they had been working, for Subsection 2 below. Employees off work due to compensable injury or illness shall also receive credit for longevity and State contribution for retirement.

  • Seniority Definition Seniority is the Layoff Service Date which is the date the employee began state service (except as a temporary appointee) as adjusted for break(s)-in-service. (See Letter of Agreement 70.00-09-179 in Appendix A).

  • Seniority Defined Seniority is defined as the total length of service in the bargaining unit as an employee, regardless of occupational change. Seniority shall be used as one of the factors in determining preference or priority for promotion, transfers, demotions, terminations and layoff caused by force reductions and recall.   • UCC Definitions Unless otherwise defined herein or the context otherwise requires, terms for which meanings are provided in the UCC are used in this Security Agreement, including its preamble and recitals, with such meanings.
