Shadow Position Clause Samples
A Shadow Position clause defines a role or position within an organization that mirrors or parallels an existing position, often for training, succession planning, or oversight purposes. Typically, an individual in a shadow position observes and learns from the primary role-holder, may attend meetings, and is given access to relevant information, but does not have formal authority or decision-making power. This clause helps ensure continuity and smooth transitions by preparing a designated person to step into the primary role if needed, thereby reducing operational risk and knowledge gaps.
