Common use of Special Duty Assignments Clause in Contracts

Special Duty Assignments. Bargaining unit employees who are awarded a special duty assignment, that is posted on the special duty calendar, must either work the assignment or must attempt to reassign it to someone else who had previously signed up for the same job, by seniority. In the event that no one else who had signed up for that specific assignment is still interested in working it, then the person originally awarded the assignment may reassign it to any other approved employee. Any employee who reassigns a special duty job contrary to the language set forth in this section three times in a calendar year will be barred from working special duty for ninety days. The special duty coordinator must be notified of any reassignment under this section in accordance with Section 27.3 E above.
