Staff Development Program. To receive a staff development award, employees must file all the appropriate forms and verification of activities and/or courses in sequence.
Staff Development Program. The Staff Development Program was established to provide the classified employees of Philomath School District 17J with the opportunities to participate in activities which lead to enhancement of skills, both professional and personal, and to expand the depth of their performance in current or future positions within the District. The Joint Labor Management Committee (JLMC), with members appointed by the Association and the District, will assist in the development of the program opportunities, and review requests for funds. The committee has developed a total plan concept with certain objectives, which are designed to maximally serve the needs of District 17J employees. However, the committee intends these plans to be flexible.
16.1 Job Related Activities
Staff Development Program. The District agrees to provide Unit Members with appropriate staff development programs. The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources or designee will determine the type of staff development training to be offered.

12.15.1 GTA acknowledges the importance of ongoing professional development in order for unit members to enhance their instructional skills and to become informed about changes in pedagogy and subject matter (BP 4131). GTA also acknowledges the Governing Board’s right to establish the District’s mission. GTA agrees that the District’s staff development program should be aligned with district priorities for student achievement, and school plans as approved by the School Site councils and Board.
12.15.2 The District acknowledges that per Education Code 56240 and 56241(b), teachers shall comprise the majority of any group designated to design local staff development. The District will appoint the committee members and GTA will appoint one member. Participation on the committee is voluntary. Participants shall be paid at the non-instructional rate described in 23.7.
Staff Development Program. In service education and orientation programs shall be instituted and maintained, with programs posted in advance. In service education programs will be scheduled in an effort to accommodate varying work schedules. Orientation will consist of a basic comprehensive program in which the nurse will be oriented through a combination of instruction, conferences, floor and/or shift work. Newly hired nurses shall not be counted in the staffing complement during the first (2) weeks of orientation. The period of orientation may be shortened or lengthened upon mutual agreement between the nurse and supervisor. The procedures and content for such programs shall be appropriate subjects for discussion by the Labor Management Committee. Such programs shall be consistent with the standards established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. The Employer recognizes that the availability of continuing education opportunities for its employees is essential to assure quality patient care. A regular and on-going staff development program shall be maintained and made available to employees covered by this Agreement. The existence, content, and attendance requirements of the program shall be discussed and considered by the Labor Management Committee.
Staff Development Program. 1. There shall be at least one (1) AFT Staff Guild member, appointed by the AFT Staff Guild, on the worksite Staff Development Committee.
2. In accordance with Assembly ▇▇▇▇ 1725, Clerical/Technical employees shall have the option to attend Staff Development activities and shall be afforded appropriate release time.
Staff Development Program. A. As part of the District's staff development program, teachers may receive credit for salary advancement upon completion of continuing education courses, workshops, and/or in-service programs which are initiated and administered by the District. The District will determine which courses will carry such credit as well as the amount of credit, if any, to be assigned to each course, workshop, or in-service program. Evidence of satisfactory completion of such courses, workshops, or in-service program must be compensated by the participants.
Staff Development Program. The Employer and the Union shall promote, through the Labour-Management Committee, an internal staff development program so that employees will have an opportunity to improve their job skills and to develop additional job skills.
Staff Development Program. Section 1. Full-time, active status employees appointed to a position regularly scheduled to work 40 hours per week with an appointment of six (6) months or longer and employed on the first day of the session have the opportunity to enroll in courses at the University. For eligible, full-time active status employees, the University will cover instructional and general fees (this does not include miscellaneous fees such as those listed in the University Bulletins and other similar fees) for up to eight (8) credit hours of undergraduate or graduate courses per semester or fees for continuing education courses up t he e q u i v a l ent c os t of eight (8) undergraduate credit hours per semester. If the employee takes fewer than eight (8) credit hours (graduate or undergraduate) the University will also cover continuing education fees up to the cost of the unused credit hours at the undergraduate rate. For those who wish to enroll in “premium-priced” programs, the benefit shall not exceed the standard law, graduate or undergraduate tuition. Any unused credits may not be "banked". Application and transcript, laboratory, and U-Pass fees are the responsibility of the employee.
Section 2. All employees seeking to enroll in any courses in the undergraduate colleges must be admitted to the University. Employees seeking to enroll in graduate or law courses must make application directly to the College of Graduate Studies or the College of Law. Employees interested in enrolling in continuing education courses should contact the Office for Academic Programs. Information about all academic degree programs may be found in either the Undergraduate, Graduate or Law issue of the University Bulletin.
Section 3. An employee who wishes to attend a job-related course which is available only during working hours may be excused from work without penalty with the supervisor's approval. Job related

Employees may not be excused from work to attend courses which are also available during non-working hours, to attend courses which are not job-related, or to attend more than eight (8) credit hours of instruction per semester. Work schedules may be readjusted to permit employees to attend courses which are not job-related, provided the adjusted weekly work schedule contains a total of forty (40) hours of work. Staff Development Program. 21.1 Regular full-time and regular part time employees, who have completed their probationary period, shall be eligible for reimbursement of their tuition for the successful completion of courses taken related to the attainment of Nursing graduate and undergraduate degrees as approved by the Medical Center.
