Stewards and Union Committees. 5.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or appoint one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, and one alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who shall be employees of the Company to deal with matters affecting employees in the bargaining unit. A list of these Stewards shall be supplied to the Company and any changes that may occur from time to time.

The Company also agrees to recognize one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, who must be a full-time employee with seniority, in each of the following departments and on each of the specified shifts: Wiener day shift afternoon shift Meats day shift Sanitation midnight shift day shift Maintenance day shift afternoon shift If a department is added to the list of departments set out in Article the Company agrees to recognize one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, who must be a full-time employee with seniority, on the day shift and afternoon shift, if applicable, in this new department. One of these stewards may also be designated as the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. A list of the Plant Chairperson and the Department Stewards, including an indication of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who is desig- nated as the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, will be supplied to the Company by the Union. The Company will he advised immediately by the Union, in writing, of any change to this list. The Company recognizes that the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Department Stewards are required from time to time to in- vestigate and process grievances or discuss with supervi- sors other matters affecting employees. When it becomes necessary for the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or a Department ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to leave job during working hours to attend to these matters, will give supervisor as much advance notice as possible, at which time the supervisor will make arrangements for the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Department Stew- ard to be relieved within one hour after receiving such no- ▇▇▇▇. The Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Department ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ must ad- vise supervisor as to what the general nature of the business is and how much time that will require. The Union agrees that there will not normally be duplication of duties or responsibilities of its stewards, however, it is rec- ognized that there may be times when, because of circum- stances, the Union or the Company may deem it necessary to have more than one representative attend to the matter. The Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ must inform the appropriate supervisor of a department into which is entering. Meetings between the Labour Relations Committee and the Company will be held at least every month or such earlier time as may be agreed. The Union or the Company shall submit an agenda of the business to be transacted. The Labour Relations Committee shall consist of the Union Plant Chairperson and Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The Union representative will be allowed to attend these committee meetings.

Union Stewards shall report to their supervisor and request permission before leaving their jobs for the purpose of Union business. The Company reserves the right to establish the time limits to perform such Union business. The Company shall be responsible for payment of time used by a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ in the investigation of a grievance, after an official grievance has been filed. This clause shall not be interpreted as to allow Stewards on Company time to solicit grievances. The Union shall inform the Company in writing of the name of the Stewards and of any subsequent change in the names of the Stewards. The Company will not recognize any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ until such notification from the Union has been received. Authorized agents of the Union shall request access to the Company's establishments or property. Such authorization shall be on appointment basis only.

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall assist any Employee, which the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ represents, in preparing and presenting her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES A. Statewide

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • Labour Management Relations Committee In recognition of the mutual benefits of open communications and on-going consultation between the faculty and the employer, the Labour/Management Relations Committee will meet on a regular basis and have equal representation for the Union and the Employer. The LMRC will serve as an open forum for the free and candid discussion of matters of mutual concern to faculty members and management.

  • Sub-Committees 15.1 The Joint Committee shall establish the membership and terms of reference for any sub-committees or sub-groups which it establishes and may dissolve such sub-committees or sub-groups. Sub-committees to which the Joint Committee delegates functions are bound by the provisions of this Agreement regulating the taking of decisions by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee may create additional sub-committees from time to time as it sees fit.
