The "Student Composition of Class" clause defines the requirements or limitations regarding the makeup of students within a particular class or course. This clause may specify criteria such as age, grade level, prerequisites, or diversity considerations that must be met for students to enroll. For example, it might require a minimum number of students from certain backgrounds or restrict enrollment to students who have completed prior coursework. Its core function is to ensure that the class has an appropriate and intended mix of students, which can support educational objectives, maintain class balance, or comply with institutional policies.
Student Composition of Class. 1. Dual credit courses will be composed of dual credit students only or of dual and college credit students.

Student Composition of Class a. For dual credit courses taught on the high school campus during the high school day, the composition of the class shall consist of dual credit students only.
b. For classes taught on the college campus or designated site, dual credit students may be in classes with students from the general population.

Exceptions for a mixed class, which would also include high school credit-only students, may be allowed only under one of the following conditions:
a. If the course involved is required for completion under the State Board of Education High School Program graduation requirements, and the high school involved is otherwise unable to offer such a course.
b. If the high school credit-only students are College Board Advanced Placement (AP) students.

Student Composition of Class. All students must meet dual enrollment admissions and eligibility requirements as outlined by the THECB laws and regulations, the Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter D, Rule 4.85. Dual enrollment courses may be composed of the following:
A. Dual enrollment students only:
1. SCHOOL DISTRICT will ensure a minimum and a maximum number of enrollments mutually agreed upon by SCHOOL DISTRICT and DMC. Dual enrollment sections assigned to DMC faculty and/or ISD dual enrollment instructors must have a minimum of fifteen (15) students enrolled in Academic sections and twelve (12) in Career Technical Education sections (or other minimum enrollment as defined by program). Dual enrollment sections with fewer than the minimum enrollment may be canceled or moved online and reassigned to DMC faculty. Dual Enrollment programs will work with the School District on a case-by-case basis to determine options.
B. Dual enrollment and college students.
C. Mixed dual and high school students only under the following conditions:
1. if the course involved is required for completion under the State Board of Education’s High School Program graduation requirements and the high school involved is otherwise unable to offer such a course; or
2. if the high school credit-only students are College Board Advanced Placement students.
D. All school district students must be registered as a DMC dual enrollment student to participate in coursework.
Student Composition of Class. As outlined in the Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter D, Rule 4.85, the school district may not enroll both dual credit and non-dual credit students in the same section unless the development of a high school credit-only class is not financially viable for the high school and only under one of the following conditions:
i. If the course is required for completion under State Board of Education High School graduation requirements, and the school is otherwise unable to offer such a course.
ii. If the high school credit-only students are College Board Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate students.
iii. If the course is a career and technology/college workforce education course and the high school credit-only students are eligible to earn articulated college credits.
Student Composition of Class. Dual credit courses may be comprised of dual credit students only or of dual credit and college credit students. Exceptions for a mixed class that combines college credit and high school credit-only students may be allowed only when the creation of a high school credit-only class is not financially viable for the high school and only under one of the following conditions outlined in the TAC, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter D, Rule 4.85 listed below:
a. If the course involved is required for completion under the State Board of Education High School Program graduation requirements, and the high school involved is otherwise unable to offer such a course.
b. If the high school credit-only students are College Board Advanced Placement students. (ACGM and WECM student learning outcomes for the College course will supersede additional content required for College Board advanced placement exams.)
c. If the course is a career and technology/college workforce education course and the high school credit-only students are earning articulated college credits. Prior to the School District enrolling non-dual credit high school students in a dual credit course, the School District must submit an annual Course Exception Report Memorandum following the procedures in the TJC Dual Credit and ECHS Procedures Manual for approval.
Student Composition of Class a) Where practical, SJCCD will make reasonable efforts to provide dual credit student only classes on the SJCCD campus and to limit class composition to dual credit students only. However, dual credit students attending classes on an SJCCD campus will likely be in classes with students from the general College population. In the event dual credit students are assigned to classes with students from the general College population, SJCCD will communicate “drop deadlines” to dual credit students through course instructors or via email along with posting on the SJCCD website.

i. If the course is required for completion under State Board of Education High School graduation requirements, and the school is otherwise unable to offer such a course.
ii. If the high school credit-only students are College Board Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate students.
iii. If the course is a career and technology/college workforce education course and the high school credit-only students are eligible to earn articulated college credits. Dual credit sections assigned to an STC Faculty and/or Dual Credit Faculty must have a minimum of ten (10) students enrolled. Dual credit sections with fewer than ten (10) students will be cancelled prior to the first-class day. Dual Credit Programs will work with the School District to determine options to combine dual credit courses with partnering school districts, if available.
Student Composition of Class. A class minimum of fifteen students is necessary to make a class. Should the ISD and the College reach an agreement for additional financial compensation, then courses with students of less than fifteen may be conducted when agreed upon by both parties.
