Substitute Driver Clause Samples
The Substitute Driver clause allows for the appointment of an alternative driver to operate a vehicle in place of the originally designated driver. This provision typically outlines the conditions under which a substitute driver may be used, such as in cases of illness, unavailability, or other valid reasons, and may specify requirements like licensing and insurance coverage for the substitute. Its core practical function is to ensure continuity of service or operation while maintaining safety and compliance, thereby addressing situations where the primary driver cannot fulfill their duties.
Substitute Driver. 46 A person not employed on a continuous daily basis, nor guaranteed a minimum number of hours 47 per month, rather, employed on an “on-call” or “subject-to-call” basis. Such persons are 48 excluded from the bargaining unit.
Substitute Driver. One who is not assigned to a full –time route

Substitute Driver. A substitute driver is a person who is employed for the purpose of temporarily replacing a regular driver. If a substitute is employed in replacement of a regular driver for more than 60 (sixty) consecutive working days (or 30 (thirty) consecutive days if the driver has been a substitute for two (2) or more years), the substitute driver will receive holiday pay and snow day pay for those holidays occurring within the period of substitution commencing with the applicable completion of the probationary period.
Substitute Driver. A driver who replaces a regular full time, a regular part time, or a probationary driver on a per diem basis, and who accrues no seniority or other benefits of this agreement.
Substitute Driver. One who is not assigned to a full-time route.
A. The following are the only issues that pertain to substitute drivers under this contract:
1. Wage schedule.
2. Voting on Association issues (refer to the Association by-laws)
3. Holiday pay as stipulated elsewhere in this agreement.
Substitute Driver. (a) is a temporary employee for a regular driver
(b) will be used for work as needed
(c) shall be paid based on years of driving experience and use the ORBDA pay schedule (d) receives no benefits
(e) has no seniority
Substitute Driver. Driver who does not have a regular assigned run. Run assignments may change daily and no hours of work are guaranteed.
Substitute Driver. Drives on a per diem basis when regular drivers are not available, except as provided in this Agreement. If a regular driver is on approved absence, regular drivers who are available will be offered the opportunity to drive the regular driver’s special runs on a rotation basis.
