Un-worked Holidays Sample Clauses

The 'Un-worked Holidays' clause defines how holidays on which an employee does not work are treated under an agreement or policy. Typically, this clause specifies whether employees are entitled to pay for holidays they do not work, how such days are recorded, and any conditions for eligibility, such as minimum service requirements or scheduling rules. For example, it may clarify if a public holiday falling on a scheduled workday is paid or unpaid when the employee is not required to work. The core function of this clause is to ensure clarity regarding compensation and expectations for holidays not worked, thereby preventing disputes and misunderstandings between employers and employees.

An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee can furnish proof satisfactory to the District that because of illness the employee was unable to work on either of such shifts, and the employee's absence previous to such holiday by reason of such illness has not been longer than thirty (30)
