UNION AND MANAGEMENT RECOGNITION AND RIGHTS. (Also refer to ▇▇▇ #24) 1.01 Purpose‌ (a) The purpose of this Agreement is to maintain a harmonious relationship between the Company and its employees to further to the fullest extent possible the safety and welfare of the employees and to establish and maintain orderly collective bargaining procedures between the Company and the Union. (b) The Parties to this Agreement share a desire to provide a high level of service to the Company's customers, to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ efficient productive results, and to ensure economy of operation, quality of work, and protection of lives and property. Accordingly, the Parties are determined to establish, within the framework provided by the law, an effective working relationship at all levels of BC Rapid Transit Company Limited in which members of the bargaining unit are employed.

  • Recognition and Rights of Stewards (a) The Employer recognizes the Union's right to select stewards to represent employees. The Employer and the Union will agree on the number of stewards, taking into account both operational and geographic considerations. (b) The Union agrees to provide the Employer with a list of the employees designated as stewards for each jurisdictional area. (c) A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, or their alternate, shall obtain the permission of their immediate supervisor before leaving their work to perform their duties as a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Leave for this purpose shall be with pay. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. On resuming their normal duties, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall notify their supervisor. (d) The duties of stewards shall include: (1) investigation of complaints of an urgent nature; (2) investigation of grievances and assisting any employee whom the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ represents in presenting a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure; (3) supervision of ballot boxes and other related functions during ratification votes; (4) attending meetings at the request of the Employer.

  • Advisory and Management Arrangements Subject to the requirements of applicable law as in effect from time to time, the Trustees may in their discretion from time to time enter into advisory, administration or management contracts (including, in each case, one or more sub-advisory, sub-administration or sub-management contracts) whereby the other party to any such contract shall undertake to furnish such advisory, administrative and management services with respect to the Trust as the Trustees shall from time to time consider desirable and all upon such terms and conditions as the Trustees may in their discretion determine. Notwithstanding any provisions of this Declaration, the Trustees may authorize any advisor, administrator or manager (subject to such general or specific instructions as the Trustees may from time to time adopt) to exercise any of the powers of the Trustees, including to effect investment transactions with respect to the assets on behalf of the Trust to the full extent of the power of the Trustees to effect such transactions or may authorize any officer, employee or Trustee to effect such transactions pursuant to recommendations of any such advisor, administrator or manager (and all without further action by the Trustees). Any such investment transaction shall be deemed to have been authorized by all of the Trustees.

  • GENERAL ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT The City Manager of the City, or designee, shall be the City’s representative, and shall oversee and approve all services to be performed, coordinate all communications, and review and approve all invoices, under this Agreement.

The Hospital recognizes the Association as the collective bargaining 17 representative with respect to wage rates, hours of work, and other conditions of 18 employment for a bargaining unit composed of all categories of registered nurses 20 Hospital shall not challenge the status of bargaining unit nurses or assert that 21 bargaining unit nurses are supervisors.
