UNION STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. 3.01 No individual employee or group of employee shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Company without proper authorization of the Union. In order that this may be carried out, the Union will supply the Company with the names of its Union Representatives. Similarly, the Company will supply the Union with a list of its supervisory or other personnel with whom the Union may be required to transact business.
3.02 Any employee who so desires it, shall have the right to review his personnel record in the presence of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and a member of Management, upon making a request for same in advance. Such review is to take place at such time and place within the unit as may be designated by Management. If any employee so affected objects to the material contained in such record such objection may be made the subject matter of a grievance and be processed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 herein. Times designated by Management will be reasonable.
(a) The Union shall have the right to appoint two (2) Stewards, per shift who will function when the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is absent, from amongst employees within the bargaining unit who have successfully completed their probationary period.
(b) The Union shall notify the Company in writing of the name of each ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and, where applicable, each Committee member, before Management shall be required to recognize any person so selected.
(c) The Union acknowledges that the Stewards have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Company. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall, with the consent of his supervisor, be permitted to leave their regular duties for a reasonable length of time to be determined by his supervisor without loss of pay, to function as a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ as provided in this Collective Agreement for the prompt handling of necessary Union business with management. Such consent from the supervisor shall not be unreasonably withheld. When returning to regular duties the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will first report back to his supervisor.
3.04 The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be given the opportunity to meet with new non-probationary employees for a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes during regular working hours at a time and place arranged by the Company within the first week of employment for the purpose of informing such employees of the contents of the collective agreement.
UNION STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. 8.01 The Union may choose twenty (20) stewards who must have seniority status to assist in processing grievances as outlined under the grievance procedure. This number may be adjusted by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union.
8.02 There shall be three (3) Union Committees composed of not more than five (5) members each, who must have seniority status.
8.03 The functions of the three (3) Committees shall be as follows:
(a) to act as the grievance committee referred to in the grievance procedure;
(b) to meet with representatives of the Company at pre-determined times once a month to discuss matters of mutual interest to the Union and the Company;
(c) to represent the Union during contract negotiations with the Company. At any meetings with the Company, the Committees may be accompanied by a full-time representative of the Union.
8.04 The Company shall be notified in writing by the proper officials of the Union the names of the stewards and the committee members, and of any changes in same, before the Company will recognize them.
8.05 It is agreed that during working hours the discussions of grievances between stewards and employees will, as far as is practical, be kept to a minimum.
8.06 If it is necessary for a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, committee member or other employee to take time off during working hours in connection with Union business, he/she must obtain permission from his/her immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not unreasonably be withheld. One member of the Union Executive shall be designated to conduct joint union management activities. Such individual shall be entitled to time off under this article.
8.07 Stewards and committee members who in accordance with the preceding section have received authorization, will be paid their regular basic hourly rate for time spent attending scheduled meetings.
8.08 Other than specifically permitted in this Article or provided elsewhere in this Agreement, there will be no solicitation of members or other Union activity during working hours.
UNION STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. 20.01 The University agrees to recognize not more than twenty-five (25) Union Stewards selected by the Union from among employees who have completed their probationary period, two (2) of whom may be the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Deputy Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The number of stewards may be increased by mutual agreement. Stewards may also perform the function of health and safety representatives.
20.02 A Union Grievance Committee may be set up on an ad hoc basis for each grievance where such a committee is required. Unless otherwise agreed, it shall be made up of not more than three (3) employees selected by the Union from the members of the bargaining unit, provided such members have completed their probationary period. It is further understood for the purposes of this clause that neither the griever nor the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ are deemed to be members of the Committee.
20.03 The Union may appoint a committee of not more than six (6) of its Local members who have completed the probationary period to deal with the University on matters concerning the renewal or renegotiation of this Collective Agreement.
20.04 It is understood that a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Committeeperson has regular work to perform and that if it is necessary to service a grievance during working hours, he or she will not leave his or her work without first obtaining the permission of the immediate supervisor which shall not be unreasonably withheld. He or she shall state the destination to the immediate supervisor and shall report again to the supervisor at the time of his or her return to work.
20.05 The Union shall keep the University informed in writing of names and positions of its Local Executive and of the Stewards and Committee members. The effective date of appointment shall be included in such notification.
20.06 Where a grievance must be serviced or where meetings between Union and University officials take place during an employee's scheduled working hours, the employee shall be paid his or her basic hourly rate as though working. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Agreement, the University shall be obligated to pay only the basic hourly rate to an employee replacing one so acting for the Union.
20.07 Local Union officers or officials shall, at all times, be entitled to the presence and assistance of a representative of the Canadian Union of Public Employees in meeting with University officials.

3.02 The bargaining unit employees have the right, at any time, to have the assistance of a Business Representative of the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada when dealing with the Employer. Such Business Representative shall have access to the Employer's premises, provided he first reports to the Plant Manager or his designate.

3.05 On commencing employment, the employee's immediate supervisor shall introduce the new employee to the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who will provide the new employee with a copy of the Collective Agreement.

20.01 The University agrees to recognize the following: Unit Chair Recording Secretary Who may also perform the function of health and safety and/or return to work representatives.
20.02 The Union may appoint a committee of not more than three (3) of its Local members who have completed the probationary period to deal with the University on matters concerning the renewal or renegotiation of this Collective Agreement.
20.03 It is understood that a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Committee person has regular work to perform and that if it is necessary to service a grievance during working hours, they will not leave their work without first obtaining the permission of the immediate supervisor which shall be subject to operational requirements. They shall state the destination to the immediate supervisor and shall report again to the supervisor at the time of their return to work.

3.02 The negotiating committee shall consist of a Union Representative of the UFCW Canada, Local 175 if required and not more than one bargaining unit employee appointed or elected by the Union.

Such review is to take place at such time and place within the unit as may be designated by Management. If any employee so affected objects to the material contained in such file such objection may be made the subject matter of a grievance and be processed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 herein. Personnel record means the employee’s application form, resume, performance appraisals, payroll information, disciplinary notices and insurance information. Employee personnel records are the property of the Company. At no time may an employee remove the content from the personnel file on the premises.
