Volunteer Overtime. 1. The Public Safety Director will attempt to utilize volunteers when overtime is needed. 2. The volunteer Employee with the lowest points will be awarded the overtime 3. If Employees are tied in points, then the senior Employee will be awarded the overtime work.
Volunteer Overtime. 1. In the event that a Location Manager or designee determines that adequate coverage cannot be met for a shift, the Location Manager or designee shall be responsible for securing staff to maintain adequate coverage. Unit 2 and Unit 8 employees seeking overtime opportunities shall sign up with the DYS manager or designee within their region one week in advance of when the overtime may be offered. When signing up for overtime, employees shall review the calendar for the following week and indicate the days on which they wish to be called for overtime. If an employee from the primary or secondary volunteer list chooses not to work an overtime shift, he/she shall inform the Location Manager or designee at least one hour prior to the start of the scheduled overtime shift that he/she chooses not to work overtime at that time.

When there is an overtime request for a non-supervisory unit member it will be open first to the non-supervisory unit. If there are no volunteers from the non-supervisory unit, volunteers from the supervisory unit will be accepted prior to ordering in non-supervisory unit members. 3. When there is an overtime request for a supervisory unit member it will be open first to supervisory unit, then volunteers from the non-supervisory unit may be used to fill the assignment. a. If neither unit fills the supervisory posting, we will utilize: i. On-call Detective Sergeants for major case investigations and procedural questions. ii. On-call administrators (Lieutenant & Captain). iii. If no volunteers from either unit, then a supervisory unit member will be ordered in. 4. If Employees are tied in points, then the senior Employee will be awarded the overtime work. 5. Anytime overtime is used (whether by volunteer or mandate), Police Officers can only work 16 consecutive hours where they are counted as staffing and can, if necessary, work an additional two hours for 18 total hours to complete reports. Officers will have, at a minimum, a six hour rest period until working again.
Volunteer Overtime. Officers present for duty (or coming on duty) on any given day, available to volunteer for overtime needed, starting from the most senior officer and continuing to the least senior officer.

  • Volunteer Leave Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Employer and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, the employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, a single period of up to seven decimal five (7.5) hours’ of leave with pay to work as a volunteer for a charitable or community organization or activity, other than for activities related to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign. The leave will be scheduled at a time convenient both to the employee and the Employer. Nevertheless, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to grant the leave at such a time as the employee may request.

  • Volunteers The use of volunteers to perform bargaining unit work, as covered by this agreement, shall not be expanded beyond the extent of existing practice as of June 1, 1986. The Hospital shall submit to the Union, at three (3) month intervals, the number of volunteers for the current month and the number of hours worked and the duties performed.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.
