Work Day and Work Week. A. The standard work day shall consist of eight and one-half (8½) hours including one (1) hour off for lunch without pay. At the department’s discretion a work day may consist of eight (8) hours with one-half (½) hour for lunch. B. Management will make efforts, where feasible, for systems which will be continuing long term, to name and train a primary and a backup source. An employee may arrange with another employee to trade or swap on call status with proper notification to and approval by the respective department supervisor. C&IT employees who are eligible to receive overtime as described in Article (25) who are called-in to fix and/or repair emergency equipment or systems shall be paid for the time worked, with a minimum of one (1) hour. Work Day and Work Week. A. The It is hereby agreed that there shall be four (4) basic work weeks as follows: 1. Standard 35.0 Hours – a 35.0-hour work week (5 consecutive days of 7 consecutive hours), exclusive of unpaid lunch periods. 2. Standard 40.0 Hours – a 40.0-hour work week (5 consecutive days of 8 consecutive hours), exclusive of unpaid lunch periods. 3. It is recognized that there are work schedules other than the aforementioned, peculiar to certain classes of positions, which are recognized by the State and the Union, and such exceptions shall remain in full force and effect. In the event it becomes necessary to change the scheduled work hours in any area, the State shall notify the Union President and the parties hereto shall make every effort to agree mutually on the hours for such schedules and fix the hours subject to the grievance procedure and arbitration provisions of this Agreement. In the event that a new schedule for hours of work is agreed upon, that schedule shall be posted and bid upon in accordance with seniority provisions of this Agreement. C. 1. Those classification/job titles in the bargaining unit that work a thirty-five (35) hour standard, non-standard or variable work week shall not be changed. 2. Those classifications that work a forty (40) hour standard, non-standard or variable work week shall not be changed. 3. Those classifications/job titles found newly appropriate to this bargaining unit which were heretofore forty (40) hours positions may be employed in a forty (40) hour week. 4. Those classifications/job titles found newly appropriate to this bargaining unit which were heretofore non-standard work day week positions may be employed in a non-standard work week. D. Part Time Employees All part-time employees shall consist receive annual leave, personal leave, sick leave and fringe benefits in accordance with the following: 1. Employed twenty (20) hours-annual leave, personal leave and sick leave on a pro- rata basis, with full fringe benefits provided. 2. Employed sixteen (16) hours or less than twenty (20) hours per week – annual leave, personal leave and sick leave on a pro-rata basis, with fringe benefits provided in accordance with present practice. E. Employees shall be granted a fifteen (15) minute coffee break during the first half and the second half of eight and their work day. All employees shall be granted a meal period of not less than one-half (1/2) hours including hour duration and no more than one (1) hour off for lunch without pay. At the department’s discretion a duration during each work day may consist of eight (8) hours with one-half (½) hour for lunchday. B. F. Shift hours upon being scheduled will be posted. G. Employees, including students, not included in the recognized bargaining unit shall not perform work normally assigned to employees in the bargaining unit to replace/displace said employees except in an emergency situation unless mutually agreed to by the Association President. Students will not be employed to perform bargaining unit work for more than twenty (20) hours per week per student, except for vacation periods. 2. All student employees shall be processed through one office in the College such as Financial Aid Office. 3. The normal College will continue past practice regarding student help. 4. Student employees shall not have access to the personal, professional, or education records of students, faculty or staff, unless necessary to perform assigned duties. I. Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) employees subject to 24x7 on call status will make themselves available to respond within an appropriate amount of time to fix and/or repair emergency equipment or systems. It is not the intent of ▇▇▇▇▇ State University to prevent the use of vacation or other benefits by subjecting an employee to 24x7 on call status 365 days per year. Management will make efforts, where feasible, for systems which will be continuing long term, to name and train a primary and a backup source. An employee may arrange with another employee to trade or swap on call status with proper notification to and approval by the respective department supervisor.

Work Day and Work Week. A. The standard work day shall consist of eight and one-half (8½) hours including one (1) hour off for lunch without pay. At the department’s discretion a work day may consist of eight (8) hours with one-half (½) hour for lunch. B. The normal work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive working days, Monday through Friday, for a total of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours in any one week, followed by two (2) consecutive days off. When necessity demands any weekend scheduling, affected Employees within a unit will be scheduled for such work on a rotational basis at time and one-half, provided they are qualified to perform the necessary services. C. In any department under a seven day operation, Employees within that department shall normally work five (5) consecutive days which may be other than Monday-Friday with a Friday, but will be scheduled for no more than 37.5 hours during any Monday to Sunday period at straight time. A sixth or seventh day work assignment within that Monday to Sunday period will be paid at time and one-halfthe appropriate premium. D. Employees whose schedules are changed so that a five (5) consecutive day schedule is not possible within a Monday to Sunday work period will make up the lost time without receiving overtime payment for on the sixth or seventh day workedat straight time until the accumulated hours paid reaches 37.5 hours provided a work day does not exceed 7.5 hours. Hours worked in excess of 37.5 hours paid will be paid at the applicable job group premium. ▇. E. In the event an Employee is not able to report for work at his/her regularly scheduled time, he/she should notify his/her department head prior to the scheduled starting time. F. Where variations in normal Employee work schedules are necessary, they may be arranged in advance with the appropriate administrative head. Administrative heads are encouraged to consider the concept of flexible scheduling. G. Changes in established work day or work week will be made only after prior notification and consultation with representatives of the Union. ▇. H. Library Assistants assigned a Monday-Friday work week, whose schedule includes only one afternoon/evening assignment, will be given an additional forty-five (45) minutes meal time on the day they work the afternoon/evening assignment. I. Library Assistants assigned to the circulation desk in the ▇▇▇▇▇ Library will be scheduled on a five (5) day work week, Monday through Friday. Effective on/after August 1, 1985, Library Assistants hired, voluntarily transferred or promoted into assignments at the circulation desk in ▇▇▇▇▇ Library may be subject to seven day operation work schedules in accordance with Paragraph (C) above. J. Effective March 18, 1992, Employees shall receive a shift premium of $350 for afternoons and $450 for midnights for Employees who regularly work on such shifts. There shall be daily pro- pro-rating for fixed schedules, except when arranged at the request of the Employee.
