If a holiday is observed on an employee's scheduled day off or during his vacation period and provided further that he does not work for the Hospital on the said holiday he shall be granted an alternate day off with pay in lieu of the holiday at a time mutually agreed upon by the employee and his Department Head, provided that he complies with the requirements of Article An employee who is required to work on a holiday shall be paid holiday premium pay at one and one-half times his basic straight time hourly rate for all hours so worked and in addition provided that he qualifies, shall receive holiday pay or a day off in lieu with pay at the employee's option and as arranged in advance with the Department Head. Such lieu day shall be taken within thirty (30) days following the holiday or as otherwise mutually agreed between the employee and the Hospital.

Applicable to Full. Time Employees The collective agreement shall provide twelve 2) paid holidays with appropriate payment to all employees who have completed twenty (20) days with the employer, provided that he fulfills the qualifying conditions, if any, set out in the respective collective agreements. It is understood that the list of paid holidays may include a combination of designated and non-designated days such as float days, anniversary days, and birthdays.
