HOURS WORKED AND OVERTIME. A. Employees shall be paid one and one-half times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of their regularly scheduled hours per week. Employees who hold the positions of Community Relations Officer, Detective, or School Resource Officer (during the school year) shall be paid one and one-half times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. For purposes of this Section, hours worked includes any approved paid leave.
B. Shift selection shall be accomplished pursuant to current practice, as reflected in General Orders 41.1 and 22.2.1.
C. The department/division head may permit an Employee to accumulate compensatory time in lieu of overtime pay, at the rate of one and one-half times for each hour of work performed. Utilization of compensatory time shall be in accordance with procedures for using vacation leave. An Employee may accrue a maximum of 80 hours of compensatory time. The City may exempt certain positions under its authority from receiving compensatory time and/or cash payments for overtime worked (e.g., department heads, administrators, assistants, etc.) per the Fair Labor Standards Act. The positions affected by this exemption are noted in their position descriptions.
D. All Employees may trade work hours with any other qualified Employee on a no loss/no gain basis in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime, and an Employee shall not earn both premium pay and overtime pay for the same hours worked. An Employee may not earn overtime pay during the same hours the Employee is using leave.
E. If an Employee is provided at least 14 days’ notice of training, the Employee may be required to adjust his/her schedule to avoid overtime.

HOURS WORKED AND OVERTIME. A. Employees shall be paid during the same weekly or bi-weekly period established by the Employer for all employees of Chesterfield Township.
B. Employees will have one (1) hour paid lunch, at the fire station that will be scheduled. If interrupted by an emergency call, lunch will continue after the emergency call.
C. There will be two (2), fifteen (15) minute breaks per shift and they will be scheduled and can be interrupted by an emergency call.
D. If, in the judgment of supervision, there exists an emergency or operational difficulty which requires overtime work, supervision may assign overtime as needed throughout the Department, and the employees assigned the overtime shall work it. Overtime will be permitted when authorized by the Public Safety Director/Designee. If twenty-eight (28) days’ notice or more is given for taking a day off, which causes overtime, it will first be offered to members of this bargaining unit. Any time off requests received less than twenty- eight (28) days in advance can be filled with Part-time/Paid–On-Call employees. Fill overtime shall be equalized among all full-time career personnel of the Fire Department without regard to rank, as long as there is one (1) full-time Officer on duty for that day. The Officer in charge at headquarters shall keep an up-to-date list of Employees next on call for overtime on a departmental, as opposed to a station, basis. When Employees are called for overtime, it shall be so recorded and logged. The Employee with the lowest amount of overtime hours shall be offered any overtime first. If the overtime calls for twenty-four (24) hours, then they will have the option to accept the whole twenty- four (24) hours, or take twelve (12) hours (07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00) of the offered twenty-four

HOURS WORKED AND OVERTIME. 11:01 The normal Full-Time hours of work shall consist of an average of eighty (80) hours in a two week period comprised of ten (10) eight (8) hour days. This provision is not to be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week, or of days of work per week.
11:02 Regularly scheduled part-time Employees will be scheduled up to six (6) shifts bi- weekly.
a) Regularly scheduled part-time Nursing Employees shall receive one weekend off in three (3) weekends except where:
i) such weekend is worked as a result of an exchange of shifts with another employee and/or

SECTION 18.1 The workweek shall be designated as the beginning of the Sunday night shift (between 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:30 a.m. Monday) and the ending of the Sunday evening shift (between 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:30 a.m. Monday). All employees shall be paid overtime at one and one-half (1 ½) their regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week. Except for bus drivers, all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day and any work performed on Saturdays, shall be paid at one and one-half (1 ½ ) the regular rate of pay. Except for bus drivers, all work performed on Sundays will be paid at double time (2x) the regular rate of pay. All time for which an employee is compensated, but does not actually work, shall be counted as hours worked for the purpose of determining eligibility for overtime. Payments of overtime shall be paid the pay period following pay period in which overtime was accrued.
SECTION 18.2 All employees shall be guaranteed hours and pay specified in the contract of the employees, except as such hours and pay may be reduced pursuant to law.
SECTION 18.3 The Superintendent, Building Principal, or designee will have sign-up lists for cooks and custodians and custodian/groundskeepers for overtime work opportunities. Employees eligible for overtime under this section shall remain on the seniority roster year round. Overtime will be offered first to the employees within a building on a rotation basis using seniority. Then overtime will be offered to cooks custodians and custodian/groundskeepers from other buildings who have signed up for overtime on a rotation basis, using seniority. Overtime shall mean extra work not caused by the absence of an employee. In cases where an employee is absent from work and coverage is necessary, the Superintendent or his designee may elect to utilize a substitute employee to work the regularly scheduled shift of the absent employee. Substitute employees shall not be eligible for overtime or extra work unless all bargaining unit employees refuse it according to this article. If a bargaining unit employee works the overtime, he/she will be paid his/her regular rate, subject to the applicable overtime rate provisions of this Article. HOURS WORKED AND OVERTIME. 7.1 The work week shall be the seven (7) consecutive day period beginning at 7:30 A.M. Monday and ending at 07.30 A.M. the following Monday.
7.2 The work day shall be the twenty-four (24) consecutive hour periods beginning at 07:30 A.M of any calendar day and ending at 7:30 A.M. the next calendar day.
7.3 The normal work week for scheduled shift employees shall consist of five consecutive normal work days of eight hours (exclusive of mealtime) each commencing the first scheduled shift that begins after 7:30 A.M. of any Monday. Other times outside of these shifts will be covered by employees on call per Article IX.
7.4 All hours worked other than scheduled within the normal work week and normal work day shall be paid at one and one-half times the regular straight time hourly rate with the following exceptions: Work performed on Sunday and Holidays will be paid a premium pay of two times the regular straight time hourly rate.
7.5 There will be a minimum two hour call-out for overtime every day of the week (Monday-Sunday), including Holidays, for all bargaining unit employees.
7.6 Call-outs that occur within two hours of each other shall not be deemed to be separate call-outs. Call outs that occur within two hours of normal starting working hours will be deemed to be a call out. For the purposes of determining time worked, call out shall begin when the call is received and accepted and shall end upon the return to the Operations Center requesting the call out, except for Standby callout which terminates at the point of origin.
7.7 For the purpose of computing weekly earning each hour of work shall consist of four (4) one quarter hour periods beginning on the hour, fifteen (15) minutes past, thirty (30) minutes past and forty-five (45) minutes past the hour.
7.8 Overtime at one and one half times the employee's straight time hourly rate will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) in any work week or over eight (8) in any work day whichever produces the greater amount of weekly pay, but not both.
7.9 Recognizing that safety is of the utmost importance to FKEC, every effort will be made to ensure employees do not work more than 16 consecutive hours (exclusive of a mealtime). In the event a specific situation requires more than 16 consecutive working hours, prior approval must be obtained from the Management of FKEC.
