The 'Regular Shifts' clause defines the standard working hours or scheduled shifts that employees are expected to work. Regular Shifts. Regular shifts at the Employer may consist of four (4), six (6), eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) consecutive hour periods worked between specific starting and ending times established by the Employer.

1. Regular shifts - the regular Maintenance Department shifts are:
a) Day Shift 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Afternoon Shift 4:00 p.m. - Midnight Night Shift Midnight - 8:00 a.m.
b) Fixed Day Shift positions are Head Stores Keeper, Painter, and Helper. Other positions may be added at the discretion of the Company.
c) Rotating shift positions are Machinists*, Lubricators*, Steamfitters, Processing Millwrights, Packing Millwrights, Electricians and Instrument Repair.
i) Steamfitters, Processing Millwrights, Packing Millwrights, Electricians and Instrument Repair employees will work a seven (7) week rotation that will follow a N-A-D-D-D-D-D (midnights-afternoons-days-days- days-days-days) pattern.
ii) Machinists and Lubricators* will follow a four (4) week D-D-D-A pattern. When required the Lubricator scheduled to afternoon shift will be available to perform work outside of their bid area.
d) The 12-8 position in Stores is a fixed shift, with the understanding that this does not in any way impact on the rest of the Maintenance Department.

f) Trades in rotating shift positions may be assigned in reverse seniority rotation, to cover vacations for the off shifts Monday to Friday. No Maintenance employees will be assigned to the off shifts for two consecutive weeks other than to cover their regular scheduled shift.
2. Normal Start-up Shifts for trades and stores keepers: Some start up shifts may require trades and storekeeper shifts to be extended up to one (1) hour ahead of their normal shift start times.
Regular Shifts. Each employee shall be assigned to a shift with designated times of beginning and ending. The designated time for beginning each shift shall be a period of time within the following schedule:
Regular Shifts. (a) Single shift work and the first shift on a multiple shift operation shall consist of eight (8) hours' labor to be performed between the hours of 8 a.m., and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
(b) An Individual Employer may establish a four by ten work week Monday through Thursday with Friday at time and one-half up to 10 hours. When a holiday falls on Monday, the work week shall be Tuesday through Friday with 10 hours at time and one-half on Saturday during the regularly established shift. All other overtime shall be paid at the double time rate.
2. Either two (2) or more shifts may be worked provided such work is established by working five (5) consecutive days; except that, it shall be permissible to establish two (2) or more shifts on all jobs of five (5) days or less duration.

Regular Shifts. The Employer shall post an open schedule the first week of each bidding month (December and May) to be effective the following month. Employees shall select their desired shift(s) in twelve (12) month increments no later than the end of the first week of the bidding months. Should more than one person desire the same shift schedule, qualification to fill the shift, then seniority among qualified Employees shall prevail. Unfilled bids may be assigned to qualified Employees by inverse seniority.
a. A full-time Communication Officers seniority will be the determining factor for the purposes of shift bidding.
b. Part-time Communication Officers will not be allowed to ‘split shifts,’ unless mutually agreed upon in advance with a full-time Communication Officer (e.g. an officer covering the split-shift hours) and having received prior supervisory approval.
c. Jeffcom will maintain separate seniority lists representing full-time/part-time Communication Officers.
d. Each month’s schedule will be posted at least ten (10) days prior to its effective date.
e. Changes to the schedule will be posted at least ten (10) days in advance and not changed without mutual agreement of the parties who are affected unless the change is due to exigent circumstances.
f. In exigent circumstances the changes will be posted as soon as possible and communicated to the staff.
