Departmentalization. A. Professional Staff Members shall be encouraged to organize at the individual school level to stimulate professional growth, improve instruction, promote curriculum development and provide for continuous assessment of teaching and learning. Typical faculty organizations may take the form of departments delineated along the lines of subject matter fields at the Middle School and High School level and grade levels in the elementary schools so that Professional Staff Members are grouped in their areas of competency. It is not the intent of this Article, however, to restrict the operational structure of schools to the departmental type organization. Schools are encouraged to experiment with varied organizational patterns in search of more effective ways of achieving their objectives. B. High School, Middle School, and Elementary Department Heads are recommended by the Superintendent after consultation with the Assistant Superintendent/Curriculum and Instruction (Assistant Superintendent/Pupil Services, Special Education only) and the Building Principal, and they are employed by the BOARD. Department Heads are directly responsible to the Building Principal. C. Organization
Departmentalization. 29:01 The parties agree to establish departments throughout the plant and will post available open- ings should new departments be established. The existing departments shall be defined as follows: Department 1 – Press Bay. Department 2 – Paint and Assembly. 29:02 High seniority employees will be the last to be transferred at the beginning of the shift, when work is not available in the department. (a) If an employee’s job is shutdown, that employee will be allowed to displace the most junior em- ployee in the Department, seniority permitting. The most Junior employee in the Department will then be assigned work at the discretion of the Company for the remainder of the shift. Such a displaced employee will, however, still be eligible for overtime work in their original department in accordance with Article 16:01 of the Collective Agreement. An employee will only be allowed to displace the most Junior employee in the Department once per shift. (b) Employees reporting late to work will only be able to displace a temporary part-time em- ployee or a Probationary Employee in their own department. Otherwise they will be assigned work at the discretion of the Company. 29:04 Employees on a specific job due to a disability will be exempt from transfer. 29:05 An employee transferred under the terms of this clause, to another department for that day, will not be able to apply the options of this clause in the department they are transferred to. 29:06 The Company agrees to post on December 1, 2009, the respective departments by shift and classification, listing the number of positions available. 29:07 Preference will be given to seniority by shifts on the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of those classifications and de- partments. 29:08 If the posting procedure fails to meet the re- quirements for the departments, the Company shall have the right to assign the employees re- quired in the reverse order of seniority. 29:09 The Company will endeavor, whenever possi- ble, to meet employee department change re- quests giving consideration to: (i) Seniority (ii) Classifications

Departmentalization. (a) Employees shall be employed in the categories of work for which they are called. Employees may be released from a call or may be re-assigned to other categories of work during a call by the Employer where the work available and schedule require such release or re-assignment. (b) The Employer may: i. increase the crew size after consultation with the applicable Department Head(s) where the work available requires such an increase. ii. reduce the size of the crew on a call by the release of that person(s) designated by the Union, after consultation with the applicable Department Head(s). iii. re-assign Employees on a call to other categories of work after consultation with the applicable Department Head(s). iv. re-assign Employees on a call to other categories of work to provide assistance within a department or in other departments without consultation with the applicable Department Head(s) provided that such assistance is temporary and the applicable Department Head(s) is advised as soon as possible. (c) While working on an event or production on the Mainstage, Employees must be designated to a single department for the entire setup, run and strike of the event or production.

General Organization High School: If qualified Professional Staff Members are willing to serve, there shall be a Department Head for the following: Art, Business Education, English, World Language, Guidance, Health and Physical Education, Industrial Technology, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Music, and Special Education. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇: If qualified Professional Staff members are willing to serve, there shall be one (1) Department Head for the following: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Special Education and Unified Arts.
Departmentalization. In acting as a Notes Trustee, each Notes Trustee shall be treated as acting through its agency division which shall be treated as a separate entity from its other divisions and departments. Any information received or acquired by a Notes Trustee which is received or acquired by some other division or department or otherwise than in its capacity as Notes Trustee may be treated as confidential by that Notes Trustee and will not be treated as information possessed by that Notes Trustee in its capacity as such.

  • Departments Each teaching member shall belong to one home department. Departments of a university shall be established by the University administration with the advice of the Senate according to criteria of commonality of interest and academic purpose, without any numerical limits on size. Divisions or other major groupings of departments with some common interest may also be formed. 5.14.1 Interdisciplinary academic programs may also be established by the University Administration with the advice of the Senate following consultation with appropriate faculty bodies. Members who teach in or direct such programs shall remain members of their home departments.

  • Departmental Seniority Departmental seniority is defined as the length of employment within the employee’s current department. Department seniority shall accrue as of the first day of employment or transfer into a new department.

  • Department Review The parties shall resolve disputes through written submission of their dispute to the Department’s Contract Manager. The Department shall respond to the dispute in writing within ten (10) Business Days from the date that the Department’s Contract Manager receives the dispute. The Department’s decision shall be final unless a party provides the other party with written notice of the party’s disagreement with the decision within ten (10) Business Days from the date of the Department’s decision. If a party disagrees with the Department’s decision, the party may proceed to subsection (b) below.
