Design Life Clause Samples
The design-life clause defines the minimum period during which a product, structure, or system is expected to perform its intended function without significant degradation. Typically, this clause specifies a set number of years for which the design must remain effective, and may require the contractor or manufacturer to ensure that materials and workmanship meet standards that support this lifespan. Its core practical function is to allocate responsibility for durability and performance, ensuring that the end user receives a product or structure that meets longevity expectations and reducing disputes over premature failures.
