The Educational Reimbursement Program clause establishes an employer's commitment to financially support employees' pursuit of further education or professional development. Typically, this clause outlines the types of courses or degrees eligible for reimbursement, the maximum amount covered, and any conditions such as maintaining a certain grade or continued employment for a specified period after course completion. Its core function is to incentivize employee growth and skill development while ensuring that the investment benefits both the employee and the organization.
Educational Reimbursement Program. In accordance with the County's Educational Reimbursement Program, eligible employees, including part-time employees with benefits (as defined in Section 7), may be reimbursed for career- related course work taken on the employee's own time. The minimum amount of reimbursement is $10.00 and the maximum is $850 per fiscal year; however, an employee enrolled in an approved degree program may be reimbursed up to $800 per semester for a maximum of $1600 per fiscal year and may include reimbursement for educational materials. The Educational Reimbursement Fund is $125,000 per fiscal year. Specific details and conditions of participation are included in Section 1700 of the County's Administrative Manual.
Educational Reimbursement Program. (1) The Educational Reimbursement Program is a three (3) year pilot program through the duration of this contract. The offering of the Educational Reimbursement Program is based on the determination of “cap” and that this program is intended as a neutral cost to the District when the Educational Reimbursement Program is offered to assist the District in achieving cap. It will be evaluated annually during the duration of the contract, and adjusted, if necessary, taking into consideration the achievement of cap, or constraints on the District budget. Any changes to this program shall be negotiated by the District and ECCE.
(2) The District will reimburse 100% of the enrollment fees, student body I.D. fee, and applicable health fees of employees, their spouses, and/or legal dependents to attend El Camino College under the following circumstances:
Educational Reimbursement Program. (a) The Educational Reimbursement Program shall be a three (3) year program through the duration of this contract. The program will only be available to full-time tenured faculty members, their spouse, domestic partner or legal dependents. The District will set aside $20,000 to fund the program. Funds not expended during any contract year will revert to the District. The program may be evaluated annually during the duration of the contract, and adjusted, if necessary, taking into consideration constraints on the District budget. Any changes to this program shall be negotiated by the District and the Federation.
(b) The District will reimburse at California resident rates 100% of the enrollment fees, student body I.D fee, and applicable health fees for Full-Time Faculty Members, their spouses, domestic partners and/or legal dependents to attend El Camino College under the following circumstances:

Educational Reimbursement Program. In accordance with the Court's Educational Reimbursement Program, eligible employees, including part-time employees with benefits (as defined in Section 7), may be reimbursed for career-related course work, including non-CEB coursework, and taken on the employee's own time. The minimum amount of reimbursement is ten dollars ($10) and the maximum is $450 per fiscal year; however, an employee enrolled in an approved degree program may be reimbursed up to $450 per semester for a maximum of $900 per fiscal year. Total fiscal year costs of this program are capped at $3,600. Employees will be eligible for participation on a first come, first serve basis, and program funds will be distributed until exhausted. Any amounts not allocated by March 31 of each year will revert back to the Court Operations Fund. Specific details and conditions of participation are included m the Court Personnel Rules.
Educational Reimbursement Program. Full-time, regular employees of the City who have passed original probation shall qualify for participation in the educational reimbursement program. The program covers courses taken at accredited colleges, accredited universities, correspondence courses and other institutions. Reimbursement shall not exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per calendar year.

District employers who are employed in an allocated budgeted position shall be reimbursed for career-related course work taken on the employee’s own time, but not to exceed a maximum reimbursement for each fiscal year of $850; however an employee enrolled in an approved degree program may be reimbursed up to $800 per semester for a maximum of $1,600 per fiscal year and may include reimbursement for educational materials. Reimbursement is subject to approval by the MHCSD General Manager upon satisfaction that the course work is career-related and an acceptable form of a receipt is provided.
Educational Reimbursement Program. Section 1: To assist full-time employees covered by this Agreement, where practical and feasible, to participate in training or educational programs designed to strengthen their abilities, which in turn directly benefits the City by assisting them in performing their duties, the City shall provide employees certain terms and conditions as follows:
a. To be eligible to participate in the Educational Reimbursement Program, a newly hired employee must have achieved permanent status by successfully completing the probationary period.
b. Employees must receive "satisfactory" or better Employee Performance Evaluations prior to the beginning of the course work.
c. Employees shall only be reimbursed for one job related degree at each level (e.g., one Associates or one Bachelor's or one Master's level degree).
d. Employees shall be limited each fiscal year to a maximum total of $1,800.00 annually for tuition reimbursement costs.
e. Employees who receive benefits under this program, who voluntarily leave the City’s employment within two (2) years of receiving such benefit, shall be responsible for reimbursing the City for the entire cost of the benefit.
f. The City Manager retains the discretionary authority to further limit or discontinue the tuition reimbursement program at any time in a fiscal year based on the availability of funds.
Section 2: Employees will be eligible for City reimbursement for the costs of books and tuition in the following manner:
a. In order to be considered for the Educational Reimbursement Program, all course work must be taken at an accredited college or university and must be properly approved prior to the beginning of the class by the City Manager or designee.
b. Employees desiring reimbursement must submit a written request for approval from the City Manager or designee.
c. Reimbursement will be for courses leading to college or post graduate degrees. Reimbursement will be provided for approved on-line coursework.
d. The refund amount payable shall be based upon the fee schedule of a State of Florida's public university or college at the time the course is completed, regardless of the fact that the employee may be attending a private educational institution.
e. When an employee completes the approved course work, it is their responsibility to submit copies of the grades and tuition receipts to the City Manager or designee. The reimbursement procedure for related courses will consist of the following:

In accordance with the City’s Tuition Reimbursement Program, employees are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement for educational purposes which are intended to improve his/her ability to accomplish his/her City job for courses taken on the employee’s own time. Reimbursement must be recommended by the Department Head and approved by the City Manager prior to enrollment. Requests are to be submitted on the approved form. Payment of education funds is discretionary with a Department Head within appropriate budget limits:
a. Costs not to exceed a maximum of $1,100 per calendar year, per employee; including books and materials and lab fees.
b. Employee’s time and travel are at employee’s own expense.
c. Class time must be on employee’s own time, unless the Department Head approves an exception.
d. A passing grade of C or better is required in each course for reimbursement. If an employee voluntarily separates within one year of receiving the educational reimbursement, he/she must reimburse the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ within one year from the separation date.
