Evening Events. Attendance at one open house and one other scheduled student performance/activity (excluding athletic events) by MBUs shall be part of their professional responsibilities without additional compensation. A sign up list of scheduled activities will be posted in each school. MBUs will not be assigned student supervision responsibilities at such activities.
Evening Events. 5.3.2-1 One (1) day shall be allocated to up to four (4) evening activities of approximately two hours each required by the Administration; each evening activity missed shall be accounted for as ¼ day of leave. However, teachers may voluntarily participate in additional activities outside the normal work day. 5.3.2-2 Elementary parent-teacher conferences held after school will not count as “required evening activities” referenced above. LUMS, LUHS, GMTCC parent/teacher conferences held after school shall be included in the above four events and activities required by the Principal and Superintendent.
Evening Events. For the duration of this contract, teachers shall be required to attend three (3) evening events per academic year. Back-to-School Night shall count as one, and one three-hour evening conference shall count as one, however, teachers will be assigned to these at the discretion of their building principal. Association members shall not be responsible for recording staff attendance at evening functions. Should school be closed due to weather or other emergency on one or more of said events, attendance at the rescheduled event on another date shall remain mandatory. Attendance at evening events may require pupil supervision, but shall not require preparation or presentation. Certificated staff, who are asked to make a professional presentation at an evening event shall be compensated according to the rates set forth in Article 30, paragraph B. Presentations compensated as such shall not count toward the employee’s required 3 evening events. It is understood that annual “Back-to-School Nights” are to be considered as one of the evening events, and that presentations to the parents are expected of the faculty. For this event only, certificated staff shall not receive additional compensation for presentation. Part time certificated staff members shall have the number of evening events for which they are responsible pro-rated according to the number of hours worked per year. (E.g. a .5 FTE shall be responsible for no more than half of the contractual functions.) At no time shall an employee be responsible to attend less than one evening event per contract year. The events may include Back-to-School Night and evening conferences, at the discretion of the principal. Events for which certificated staff are otherwise compensated, i.e., as coaches, advisors, or music department staff, shall not qualify under this provision. Events occurring on off-district property shall be considered voluntary, shall be compensated according to Paragraph 6 of this Article, and shall not count toward the employee’s required 3 evening events. Evening Events. Each employee, as part of their professional responsibility, will be available for one evening event per year such as: open house, orientation, drop in/dropoff, content family nights or family nights. This event will be planned with administration and staff to engage parents and students in activities and communications which are critical to the mission of the school and district. These required events will not exceed 1.5 hours, as time will be compensated on the following early release day.
Evening Events. The Board and the Association agree that there will be a mutual effort to assure that teachers will participate in evening activities which are sponsored by the school, parent, or student groups. To that end, teachers may be required to attend two (2) evening events per year (curriculum night(s)). If teachers are requested to attend any additional evening events for the primary purpose of performing professional duties, and agree to do so, they will receive compensation for two-hours at the curriculum rate.
Evening Events. 6.10.2.6.1 The onsite workday will be continuous, with the exception of no more than three (3) mandatory school- wide evening events. 6.10.2.6.2 All staff will be required to hold one (1) night of evening conferences according to the negotiated district calendar. Evening Events. The Employer may schedule up to two special evening events in a School Year when Instructors are required to attend. Such events shall be scheduled in consultation with the Union, and the dates shall be known prior to June 30th of the previous School Year. Open House shall be scheduled on a day prior to a non-instructional day. Special evening events shall end no later than 9:00 p.m., inclusive of clean-up time.

Bargaining unit members are encouraged as a professional responsibility to take part 11 in after school Class Mothers' Teas. Regularly scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held 12 within the teacher day and on a scheduled evening at the close of both the first and third marking 13 periods. The evening conferences will be reserved for those parents who request the same. A make- 14 up evening will be scheduled when deemed necessary.
Evening Events. For 2005-2006, teachers shall not be required to attend more than five (5) evening meetings per school year. Principals shall designate which meetings are mandatory for teacher attendance. Principals shall designate the dates for three (3) of the five (5) meetings at the beginning of the school year. Should school be closed due to weather or other emergency on one or more of said dates, attendance at the rescheduled meeting on another date shall remain mandatory. Effective in 2006-07, certificated staff will be required to attend four (4) school related evening events per academic year. Events for which certificated staff are other wise compensated, i.e., as coaches, advisors, or music department staff, shall not qualify under this provision. A committee of an equal number of building administrators and EAMO selected certificated staff will create and post a list of potential events and the number of teachers necessary for each for their building. If there is a dispute over whether an event should be included, it will be resolved solely by the Superintendent. Certificated staff will select from this list in order of seniority. The principal shall be permitted to assign events to particular individuals based upon their grade level or content area. In order to ensure adequate coverage at all events, the principal may assign teachers to specific functions. The initial list shall be posted no later than September 15 of each year. Events scheduled after that date will be posted as soon as possible. If a certificated staff member is given more than 30 days notice of an assignment, it may not be refused. If a certificated staff member receives less than 30 days notice, he may refuse, but this will not release the certificated staff from his annual obligation. Events shall be no longer than three (3) hours long. If an event is longer than three (3) hours, it will count as two (2) events of the four. Events beyond four (4) shall be compensated at the rate of $36 in 2005-06 and 2006-07 and $38 per hour in 2007-08. Events for which certificated staff are otherwise compensated, i.e. as coaches or advisors, will not count towards the four.
