Higher Class Pay. The College agrees to pay extra duty pay only if the employee is assigned and performs work in a higher pay classification for a period of no less than four (4) hours in a workday. When a Bargaining Unit member is asked to perform duties at a higher pay classification, the employee will be paid at a minimum of 120% of his/her regular rate of pay.
Higher Class Pay. Any member requested to assume and who assumes the duties of a member in a higher classification will be paid at his/her step of the higher classification salary schedule after working in the position for five (5) consecutive days. The member will receive the higher classification pay back to the first day of such assumption of duties after working this five-day period. The member will return to his/her regular rate of pay upon his/her return to their original job.
Higher Class Pay. When a dietary aide is assigned to a ▇▇▇▇'▇ position, such dietary aide shall receive ▇▇▇▇'▇ pay for the time spent in that position.

Higher Class Pay. An employee will have the first opportunity to be assigned by the District to replace an absent employee in a higher classification so long as the employee is qualified. The employee will be entitled to the rate of pay for the higher classification. After completing their temporary assignment, the employee shall return to their previous classification and salary.

C. An employee on an out of class assignment shall receive the upgrade rate for all standby duty and call-back overtime pay earned while working out of class. D. An employee who works in a higher classification for more than thirty-one (31) days shall be entitled to pay at either the lowest step of the salary range for the position in which he or she is working or 5% of salary, whichever is greater. In addition, the employee’s paid time off shall be compensated at the pay rate of the higher classification.
Higher Class Pay. Any Bargaining Unit Member assigned by the Administration to assume the work of an absent Employee, at a higher class within the same classification, shall be at his/her experience Step on the higher classification Salary Schedule. Employees in the same classification will receive his/her current rate of pay. If a bargaining unit member is required to cross job classifications which requires a specific license, that bargaining unit member will receive a rate of pay equal to their current classification. If the classification has a higher rate of pay, the employee shall receive the higher rate of pay at his/her current salary step.
Higher Class Pay. Uniformed Staff members shall be entitled to Higher Class pay, i.e., the pay of the next higher classification, when temporarily designated by the Chief or their designee to do so, in the following situations: • Medics operating as a Clinical Specialist (Either in Communications or in the Field when there is not another Clinical Specialist on the ambulance); • Clinical Specialists with the Department training credential who are operating in a training assignment; • Captains operating as a Commander; and • Commanders operating as a Division Chief.

  • Out of Class Pay On occasion, due to operational necessity, an employee may be required to perform a majority of essential duties of another classification with a higher salary range. In such cases, payment for out-of-class work shall be 5% above the regular base pay of the employee for all hours worked in the higher classification. Such pay shall be a minimum of the “A” step of the higher classification and no more than the maximum of the highest step of the higher classification. If the 5% increase falls between steps, the next higher step is used. Eligibility for out-of-class pay will be subject to the following conditions: 1. The assignment to work in the higher classification must be made in advance by the Department Manager and approved by the Director of Administrative Services. 2. Employees who are assigned to the higher class must be required to perform a substantial number of the essential tasks of the higher level position. Consideration shall be given to the employee’s ability and qualifications to perform at a higher level and whether the lower level position is in direct line and job scope of the higher class. An employee will be eligible for out-of-class pay when assigned to perform the duties of a higher classification for at least five (5) consecutive work days. Out-of-class assignments shall not be used to circumvent the hiring process.

  • APPOINTMENT IN A HIGHER CLASS An EMPLOYEE who has completed a probationary period or six months of continuous service, whichever is less, and who is appointed to a position in a higher classification deemed to be promotive shall have his/her salary adjusted to that step in the promotive class as follows:

  • Work in a Higher Classification Any employee who is assigned by his/her supervisor to a vacant position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty (30) days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of the appointment, provided such assignment has the prior approval in writing of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee. The approval of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee shall take effect as of the first day of the assignment. Any assignment to a vacant position in a higher grade must be in writing to be valid.

  • Promotion to a Higher Classification An employee who is promoted to a higher rated classification within the bargaining unit will be placed in the range of the higher rated classification so that he shall receive no less an increase in wage rate than the equivalent of one step in the wage rate of his previous classification (provided that he does not exceed the wage rate of the classification to which he has been promoted).
