Increment Progression.
25.08 Step 1 will be the probationary rate for temporary employees with appointments. Step 2 will be the probationary rate for regular employees with appointments. On successful completion of the probationary period, temporary employees with appointments will move to Step 3, and regular employees with appointments will move to Step 4.

Increment Progression. 15.1 The Employer will adopt and implement the Performance Agreement and Development Review policy and procedures for the determination of employee’s progression from the first salary step to the top step within a classification level.
15.2 A determination of progression through the salary steps shall be by annual increment subject to the employee having given “satisfactory service” for the prior twelve months employment.
15.3 Appraisal will take place in sufficient time (at least six months prior) to allow improved performance to qualify for an annual increment.
15.4 An avenue of dispute against the determination/assessment is to be utilised as outlined in the Performance Development and Review policy.

Increment Progression. Progression from an increment to the next increment within a band for eligible employees will not be automatic and is subject to the achievement of: • the acquisition and satisfactory utilisation of new or enhanced skills if required by Council and as determined in the Performance and Development Plan; • the meeting of established performance objectives as determined in the Performance and Development Plan; and • satisfactory service over the preceding twelve (12) months. An employee who has had an absence of paid leave in excess of three (3) months in aggregate or any unpaid leave in the preceding twelve (12) months, shall have their annual review delayed by the period of such absence.
Increment Progression. Within each classification level there are a number of Increments, recognising the usual expectation that employees will commence on the lowest Increment applicable to the Classification Level for their role and progress through the Increments of the Level as they demonstrate growth in their role over time. Employees will be given the opportunity to discuss Incremental progression at least once a year during their performance development review. To receive an incremental progression Employees need to demonstrate that: • The Employee has performed at a level higher than expected and/or taken on a higher level of responsibility over a sustained period, over the preceding review cycle, • The Employee has acquired new or enhanced skills that are required by the Employer; and • The Employee has exceeded delivery of their KPIs for the preceding review cycle.
