Leave of Absence: Union Conventions and Educational Programs. (a) The Employer, upon receipt of written notice from the Union, shall grant leaves of absence, without pay, to employees who are elected as delegates to attend Union conventions, education programs (up to a maximum of one (1) month) or as members of a negotiating committee. Written notice shall be given at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of such leave. (b) The Employer, upon receipt of written notice from the Union, shall grant up to fifteen (15) working days leave of absence without pay, for employees to attend bona fide shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ education programs. Written notice shall be given at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of such leaves. (c) The Employer may grant further unpaid leaves of absence to employees for the purpose of attending mutually agreed upon educational programs within the hospitality industry. Written applications for such leave must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of such leaves. (d) The Employer is entitled to insist that not more than one employee can be absent on such leaves of absence, from any one department.
