MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. Section 1 The University will comply with New York State law regarding meal breaks and rest periods. It is understood that, as necessitated by departmental emergency operations, rest periods and breaks may be temporarily suspended during a shift. Rest periods shall not be cumulative

MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD a) Employees shall not work more than 5 hours without an unpaid meal break of at least a half an hour rest/meal break. b) An Employee who is directed to work through their normal meal break shall be paid time and a half rates for all work done during the meal break time and thereafter until a meal break is allowed. c) Notwithstanding the above provisions, an Employee employed as a regular maintenance technician shall work during meal breaks at the ordinary rates, herein prescribed whenever instructed to do so, for the purpose of making good of plant breakdowns or upon routine maintenance of plant which can only be done while such plant is idle. d) Employees shall be allowed a paid rest break of 15 minutes provided they work the ordinary hours of each day or shift. This break shall be taken during the ordinary hours at the direction of KONE.

MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. 16.1. An employee shall not be required to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal. Provided that in cases where facilities are limited to the extent that meal breaks must be staggered and as a result it is not practicable for all employees to take a meal break within five hours an employee shall not be required to work for more than six hours without a meal break. 16.2. An employee who is directed to work through his/her normal meal break shall be paid time and a half rates for all work done during the meal time and thereafter until a meal break is allowed. 16.3. Notwithstanding the provisions of 16.2, and subject to the provisions of 16.1, an employee employed as a regular maintenance man shall work during meal breaks at the ordinary rates herein prescribed whenever instructed to do so for the purpose of making good of plant breakdowns or upon routine maintenance of plant which can only be done while such plant is idle. 16.4. There shall be allowed without deduction of pay a rest period of ten minutes during the ordinary hours of each day or shift.

MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. 26.1 Meal breaks will be for a period of not less than 30 minutes and not more than 1 hour, subject to agreement between the Employer and Employee. 26.2 An Employee will not be required to continuously work more than 5 hours without a meal break. 26.3 The meal break will be taken at an agreed time within the 5 hours at a time convenient to the business and the service of customers. 26.4 The Employer will use its best endeavours to ensure meal breaks are not granted within the hour immediately: after commencing work; or before ceasing work. 26.5 Meal breaks are unpaid breaks and not included in the ordinary hours of work. 26.6 An Employee will be entitled to the following rest period: 4 or more hours 1 rest period of 10 minutes to be taken at a mutually agreeable time during the period of work (not within the hour immediately prior to commencing or before ceasing work). 26.7 The rest period must be counted as time worked.

MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. 16.1 Meal breaks will be for a period of not less than 30 minutes and not more than 1 hour, subject to agreement between the Employer and Employee. 16.2 An Employee will not be required to continuously work more than 5 hours without a meal break. 16.3 The meal break will be taken at an agreed time within the 5 hours at a time convenient to the business and the service of customers. 16.4 The Employer will use its best endeavours to ensure meal breaks are not granted within the hour immediately: after commencing work; or before ceasing work. 16.5 An Employee will be granted permission to leave the workplace for the duration of the meal break. 16.6 The Employer shall not be required to provide meal breaks at a regular set period each day of the week and shall be able to change meal breaks without prior notice. 16.7 Meal breaks are unpaid breaks and not included in the ordinary hours of work. 16.8 An Employee will be entitled to the following rest period: 4 hours, and less than 8 hours 1 rest period of 10 minutes to be taken at a mutually agreeable time during the period of work (not within the hour immediately after commencing or before ceasing work). 8 hours and over 2 rest periods of 10 minutes each to be taken at a mutually agreeable time during the period of work (not within the hour immediately after commencing or before ceasing work). 16.9 The rest period must be counted as time worked.

MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. Employees will be allowed one (1) thirty (30) minute meal period. The meal period shall occur at the same time as the people we support have their meals. Each employee is required to be with the people we support during this paid meal period and to provide supervision for the people we support as may be required. Where the meal is prepared with the client at the client’s residence, the Employer shall pay for the employee’s meal.
