The PTO Guidelines clause defines the rules and procedures governing the accrual, use, and management of paid time off (PTO) for employees. PTO Guidelines. The Agency’s PTO guidelines may be altered only by agreement between a majority of all impacted nurses and the Agency. Copies of PTO guidelines will be kept in each program and revisions shall be sent to the Association.
PTO Guidelines. Employees wishing to take more than four (4) consecutive days of PTO must make an application in the District’s approved timekeeping system five (5) working days in advance of the first day of PTO. Prior approval is required for the use of any amount of PTO.
PTO Guidelines. 1. Normally, PTO is approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor. In cases of absences due to accident, illness or emergencies, notification of supervisors is required as soon as possible. 2. PTO shall not be taken in increments of less thirty (30) minutes or 0.5 hours. 3. The progress of the work must be considered in granting any PTO request. This consideration may result in the denying of a PTO request or limiting the number of personnel on a crew or on a shift that can be off at one time. 4. Employees may choose to utilize PTO during their Short Term Disability waiting period in lieu of unpaid time and may also choose to utilize PTO during any FMLA or qualifying event. 5. The Employer may require that PTO for illness or accidents be supported by proper medical evidence.

The Employer may require that PTO for illness or accidents be supported by proper medical evidence. 5. An employee who wishes to take time off must first use any paid time that has been accrued before unpaid time is granted. Exceptions may be approved only by the Human Resources Department.
