Retroactive Wages Sample Clauses

The Retroactive Wages clause establishes the employer's obligation to pay employees for wage increases or adjustments that are applied to a period before the agreement or change was formally implemented. In practice, this means that if a new pay rate or benefit is negotiated and agreed upon, employees will receive back pay covering the time from the effective date of the change up to the present, even if the agreement is finalized later. This clause ensures that employees are fairly compensated for work performed during the retroactive period and prevents employers from delaying negotiations to avoid higher wage costs.
