Scheduling Overtime. Supervisors will determine whether work will be performed on regular work time or overtime; the number, the skills and abilities of the employees required to perform the work; and the duration of the work. 31.5.1 Supervisors will first attempt to meet overtime requirements on a voluntary basis with qualified employees who are currently working. If there are not enough qualified employees volunteering to work overtime, a supervisor may require employees to work overtime.

Scheduling Overtime. All work which is to be performed on an overtime basis shall first be offered on a voluntary basis, subject to the following conditions:

Scheduling Overtime. The Employer shall determine the need for overtime. Overtime shall be distributed according to the ability of the employee to perform the function required and as equally among qualified nurses as circumstances allow.
Scheduling Overtime. It is the Company’s intention to schedule overtime work as far in advance as practical and endeavour to meet the wishes of any employee not wishing to work overtime, consistent with customer and production requirements. It is agreed therefore that a representative of the Human Resources Department and a Union representative shall compose an Overtime Committee. Such Committee shall meet, at the request of either party, with various individuals and Departments for the purposes of determining mutually agreeable solutions to overtime scheduling problems. The Company and the Union agree that for application of Article 18.16 and 18.17, the Company will use seniority determining the employee who will be offered the overtime.
Scheduling Overtime. A list of all officers interested in working overtime will be made and when an overtime job is available the officers on this list shall be called first. The list shall be used in a manner such that when an officer is offered overtime and either accepts or denies the overtime, on the next availability of overtime, the next officer on the list shall be called.

There shall be no mandatory overtime except in an emergency, and/or, in case of Critical Care Transport employees, for any transport that starts during the employee’s regularly scheduled shift. No bargaining unit employee will be required to begin an unplanned transport that will knowingly take them past 16 hours from the beginning of their shift.
