The SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES clause requires parties to adopt environmentally responsible methods and procedures in fulfilling their contractual obligations. This may include using renewable resources, minimizing waste, reducing carbon emissions, or complying with recognized sustainability standards throughout the duration of the agreement. Its core function is to ensure that business activities under the contract are conducted in a manner that supports environmental stewardship and addresses the growing demand for corporate social responsibility.
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. In order to sustain Washington’s natural resources and ecosystems, the RECIPIENT is fully encouraged to implement sustainable practices and to purchase environmentally preferable products under this Agreement .
a) Sustainable practices may include such activities as: use of clean energy, use of double-sided printing, hosting low impact meetings, and setting up recycling and composting programs.
b) Purchasing may include such items as: sustainably produced products and services, EPEAT registered computers and imaging equipment, independently certified green cleaning products, remanufactured toner cartridges, products with reduced packaging, office products that are refillable, rechargeable, and recyclable, 100% post-consumer recycled paper, and toxic free products. SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. (5-21-13) (Rev. 5-19-15) 104-13 SP1 G118 In accordance with North Carolina Executive Order 156, NCGS 130A-309.14(3), and NCGS 136-28.8, it is the objective of the Department to aid in the reduction of materials that become a part of our solid waste stream, to divert materials from landfills, to find ways to recycle and reuse materials, to consider and minimize, where economically feasible, the environmental impacts associated with agency land use and acquisition, construction, maintenance and facility management for the benefit of the Citizens of North Carolina. To achieve the mission of reducing environmental impacts across the state, the Department is committed to supporting the efforts to initiate, develop and use products and construction methods that incorporate the use of recycled, solid waste products and environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with Article 104-13 of the Standard Specifications. Report the quantities of reused or recycled materials either incorporated in the project or diverted from landfills and any practice that minimizes the environmental impact on the project annually on the Project Construction Reuse and Recycling Reporting Form. (4-16-13) 106 SP1 G120 Revise the 2012 Standard Specifications as follows: Page 1-49, Subarticle 106-1(B) Domestic Steel, lines 2-7, replace the first paragraph with the following: All steel and iron products that are permanently incorporated into this project shall be produced in the United States except minimal amounts of foreign steel and iron products may be used provided the combined material cost of the items involved does not exceed 0.1% of the total amount bid for the entire project or $2,500, whichever is greater. If invoices showing the cost of the material are not provided, the amount of the bid item involving the foreign material will be used for calculations. SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. The term "Sustainable Practices" means any and all sustainable building practices adopted by Landlord in connection with the use and occupancy of the Project and/or as may apply to the Project as a result of all or any part of the Project achieving a specified rating or certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, or similar rating systems or accreditations, or as required to complete energy consumption data reporting for the Energy Star Portfolio Manager website, or as otherwise required by law, including, without limitation, California Public Resources Code Section 25402.10
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. In order to sustain Washington’s natural resources and ecosystems, WCI Inc. is encouraged to implement sustainable practices where and when possible. These practices include conservation of water and energy, use of certified green cleaning products, allowance of toxic chemicals, purchase and use of sustainably produced products (e.g., 100% recycled paper), and use of reusable products. SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. Projects executed for EPA Region 2 shall use technologies and practices that are sustainable in accordance with EPA’s Consideration for Greener Cleanup Activities (April 2016) found at ▇▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇.▇▇▇.▇▇▇/superfund/superfund-green-remediation or other EPA green requirements as applicable.

TERMINATION For Cause ECOLOGY may terminate for cause this Agreement with a seven (7) calendar days prior written notification to the RECIPIENT, at the sole discretion of ECOLOGY, for failing to perform an Agreement requirement or for a material breach of any term or condition. If this Agreement is so terminated, the parties shall be liable only for performance rendered or costs incurred in accordance with the terms of this Agreement prior to the effective date of termination. Failure to Commence Work. ECOLOGY reserves the right to terminate this Agreement if RECIPIENT fails to commence work on the project funded within four (4) months after the effective date of this Agreement, or by any date mutually agreed upon in writing for commencement of work, or the time period defined within the Scope of Work.
