TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS. The District may require a teacher to submit to physical and medical tests and examinations by a District-appointed doctor/physician when such tests and examinations are necessary to maintain a capable workforce, employee health and safety, etc., provided the District will pay the cost of such tests and examinations. In the event there is a disagreement between the teacher’s physician and the District’s physician concerning the employee’s ability to do his/her job or return to his/her job, at the written request of the teacher, the parties will appoint a specialist from ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Health System or the University of Michigan Medical Center whose decision on the employee’s fitness to return to work shall be final and binding on the parties. The cost of the specialist shall be paid by the District.

Section 1 All tests and employee selection procedures shall be valid and job-related in accordance with EEOC and OPM guidelines.
Section 2 The employer will provide such training to unit employees as is necessary to perform work assigned by the employer. The employer will comply with its training obligations for training employees under 5 CFR 410.301.
Section 3 Upon request, the FGIS agrees to schedule an employee for testing, which is required for non-competitive career advancement/promotion prior to the time the employee meets other requirements for non-competitive career advancement/ promotion.

In the formal process of validating learning, tests can dominate because of their qualities of wide applicability across populations, low costs and high levels of perceived fairness. In general, a test is set so that candidates respond orally or in writing to present questions (and answers). A test provides direct assessment of specific knowledge and skills. It may advantage candidates with strong written and oral skills and can cause candidate anxiety.
