Use of county computers for E-Mail and internet connections. 29 related to Union business 30 a. County communication systems may be used for Union business 31 involving electronic communications or Internet connections in the following 1 circumstances, but only when such use is also in conformance with the other 3 i. For the purpose of interacting with the County’s 9 representatives concerning Union-County business, such as setting dates for County- 10 Union meetings, making inquiries regarding grievances, etc. 11 iv. On the employee’s own time, for the purposes of utilizing a 12 link on the Multnomah Commons, or its successor, to reach a Union internet site. Any 13 use of such sites will comply with County Personnel Rules and shall exclude blogging, 14 use of chat rooms, instant messaging or other live person to person electronic 15 communication, and political activities as prohibited by law. 16 v. For authorized Union officials only, and on such employee’s 17 own time, for the purpose of posting messages on the internet site provided for in (iv) 18 above. 19 vi. The Local 88 President or designee may use the County’s 20 electronic communication systems for the purpose of communicating with Local 88-2 21 members. All such communications shall comply with County Personnel Rules. 22 Communications that are sent to employees within a single Department shall be approved 23 by the Department Director or designee prior to distribution. Communications that are 24 distributed to employees in more than one Department shall be approved by the director 25 of Central Human Resources or Labor Relations prior to distribution. The Local 88 President or designee may use the County’s 27 electronic communication systems for the purpose of communicating with Local 88-5 28 members. All such communications shall comply with County Personnel Rules. 29 vii. Stewards will make every effort to avoid disruptions and 30 interruptions of work. 1 b. The uses cited in “Subsection a” above may continue only to the 3 continued use of the cited computers, internet connection, intranet connection, etc. for 4 other County purposes. The content of any and all communications using the County 5 computer system is not privileged and may be subject to County review. 6 c. Access to the Multnomah Commons by any individual outside the 7 County raises major issues of policy related to privacy, security and cost. Therefore, the 8 Union business agent may have such access only if: 9 i. Access is approved by the County’s Chief Information Officer 10 (CIO), and subject to restrictions imposed by the CIO; and 11 ii. All costs associated with making access available and with 12 maintaining it are borne by the Union.

County computers may be used for Union business 29 involving E-Mail or Internet connections in the following circumstances, but only when 30 such use is also in conformance with the other requirements of this Agreement, 1 specifically to include the provisions of Article 18, “Section IV.B.2.a,” which requires 2 that stewards make every effort to avoid disruptions and interruptions of work. 3 1) When such use is de minimis and incidental, such 4 as arranging a meeting with a fellow shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or the Council Representative. 5 2) For the purpose of conducting an investigation of a 6 grievance, such as individual inquiries to co-workers which would otherwise be 7 conducted over the telephone. 8 3) For the purpose of interacting with the County’s 9 representatives concerning Union-County business, such as setting dates for a 10 County-Union meeting, making inquiries regarding a grievance, etc. 11 4) On the employee’s own time, for the purposes of 12 utilizing a link on MultCo Commons, or its successor, to reach a Union Internet bulletin 13 board site. Any such site shall be subject to the same rules of content as a conventional 14 union bulletin board. 15 5) For authorized Union officials only, and on such 16 employee’s own time, for the purpose of posting messages on the Bulletin Board site 17 provided for in (4) above. 18 b. The uses cited in “Subsection a” above may continue only 19 to the extent that they are at no additional cost to the County, and are contingent on 20 the continued use of the cited computers, Internet connection, intranet connection, etc. 21 for other County purposes. The content of any and all communications using the 22 County computer system is not privileged and may be subject to County review. 23 c. Access to Multco Commons by any individual outside the 24 County raises major issues of policy related to privacy, security and cost. Therefore, 25 the Union business agent may have such access only if: 26 1) Access is approved by the County’s Chief 27 Information Officer, and subject to restrictions imposed by him or her; and 28 2) All costs associated with making access available 29 and with maintaining it are borne by the Union.

  • Internet Connection Certain Solutions may require an active and stable connection to the Internet in order to function. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure that you have at all times an active and stable Internet connection.

  • PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SERVICES OR EQUIPMENT To the extent applicable, Supplier certifies that during the term of this Contract it will comply with applicable requirements of 2 C.F.R. § 200.216.

  • Computers All computers, hardware, software, computer upgrades and maintenance in connection therewith shall be at Owner's expense.
