The 'Use of Leave Days' clause defines the rules and procedures governing how employees may take their allotted leave or vacation days. Use of Leave Days. No leave days shall be charged for absences related to a compensable job- related accident. Any employee required to go to the doctor as a result of an on-the-job accident will be paid for such work day without such time being charged against leave days, unless such injury was caused by horseplay or negligence of the involved employee. It is understood that visits other than the initial one at the time of the accident will be scheduled at times other than when the employee is scheduled to work, unless approved by the immediate supervisor.
Use of Leave Days. Leave may be used for personal or family illness, bereavement, religious holidays, emergencies and personal leaves as specified below. For all absences, the employee is required to notify the appropriate department manager, or designee, upon first knowledge of the necessity for the absence. The use of leave days must be approved by the department manager and will be strictly confined to the legitimate purposes specified in the schedule which follows immediately.
Use of Leave Days. Leave days may be used, in accordance with the following schedule and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) procedures outlined in Appendix E. For all absences the employee is required to notify the school administration upon first knowledge of the necessity for the absence. Use of Leave Days. A. K-12, Food Service, Head Start and School Readiness 1. Personal illness/business and/or disability which does not allow the employee to report to work. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Public Schools will comply with the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). 2. Family illness which does not allow the employee to report to work. Family includes immediate members of the household, such as spouse, son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, parents and grandparents.   • Use of Leave An employee does not need to use this leave entitlement in one block. Leave can be taken intermittently or on a reduced leave schedule when medically necessary. Employees must make reasonable efforts to schedule leave for planned medical treatment so as not to unduly disrupt the employer’s operations. Leave due to qualifying exigencies may also be taken on an intermittent basis.

  • Commencement of Leave Parental leave must commence no later than the first anniversary date of the birth or adoption of the child or of the date on which the child comes into the actual care and custody of the employee. The employee will decide when his or her parental leave is to commence.

  • Period of Leave An employee shall be granted extended military leave for the initial period of enlistment, service, or tour of duty for a period not to exceed five (5) years. In addition, leave shall be granted for a period up to six (6) months from the date of release from duty if the employee requests such extension.
