Basis of Design Memorandum Clause Samples
Basis of Design Memorandum. DESIGN PROFESSIONAL shall submit a Basis of Design Memorandum (BDM) describing the preferred alternative recommendation for design. DESIGN PROFESSIONAL shall provide documentation of key design parameters that can be used for future reference. The BDM shall include the following at a minimum:
Basis of Design Memorandum. Following the review of all models, Consultant shall prepare a basis of design memorandum to document the findings of the prior studies and establish the criteria to be utilized for the design of the stormwater facility. Task 2 Deliverables • Project Base Map (pdf and dwg) • Basis of Design Memorandum(pdf) Task 3 – Preliminary Survey
Basis of Design Memorandum. Consultant shall perform the initial design development and prepare a BOD Memorandum to document technical and engineering decisions, which are then used as the basis for development of detailed design documents. The BOD Memorandum will serve as a record of the decisions made during the preliminary design and provide the basis for detailed design.
Basis of Design Memorandum. The Scope of Services for the Basis of Design Memorandum and the tasks discussed below explicitly set forth what ENGINEER will perform and does not implicitly put additional responsibilities or duties upon ENGINEER. This Preliminary Design task will be completed by ENGINEER within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of a written Notice to Proceed. All opinions of probable construction cost developed for Basis of Design will follow the recommendations of the AACE International Recommended Practice No. 18R with regard to methodology and accuracy. The cost opinion level of accuracy presented by ENGINEER will be a Class 3 budget authorization or control cost opinion in accordance with accepted industry guidelines and as defined by AACE. Since ENGINEER has no control over the cost of labor, material or equipment furnished by others not under contract to ENGINEER, ENGINEER’s opinion of probable cost for construction of the work will be made on the basis of experience and qualifications as an ENGINEER. ENGINEER does not guarantee or warranty that proposals, bids or actual PROJECT costs will not vary from ENGINEER’s opinions of probable cost. Basis of Design Memorandum shall include:
Basis of Design Memorandum. Prepare a basis of design memorandum to summarize the general design criteria for lift station and force main improvements. The memorandum will summarize: site location and accessibility; number, size and type of easements required; number and capacity of pumps; force main size; electrical, and instrumentation and control requirements; and a preliminary construction cost opinion.
Basis of Design Memorandum. ENGINEER shall prepare a Basis of Design Memorandum (BDM) to define the scope and design approach for the project. The BDM shall include design criteria as well as preliminary facility plans and sections; architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation and control design criteria; preliminary Process & Instrument Diagrams (PIDs); and a preliminary project schedule. Design capacity of new lime slaking equipment will match the capacity of the existing equipment.
1. Conduct a project initiation meeting to clarify the OWNER’s requirements for the project; establish design criteria; review available data; and present initial work plan and schedule. Data requested will include shop drawing data for existing lime slaking equipment. Prior to preparation of BDM, ENGINEER shall conduct an initial site visit to review the existing facilities. ENGINEER will coordinate with OWNER to gather necessary information if required to maintain schedule due to pandemic-based travel restrictions.
2. ENGINEER shall submit an electronic copy of the draft BDM to OWNER for review. A review meeting will be conducted by conference call with OWNER to discuss OWNER’s review comments. The BDM will be revised as appropriate to reflect OWNER comments.
3. ENGINEER shall submit final electronic copy of the final BDM to OWNER.
Basis of Design Memorandum. ENGINEER will prepare a basis of design memorandum that documents the work to be performed at both the PBWTP and JKWTP. This memorandum will be a simple document that sets forth the direction for final design. It will primarily include Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), equipment tables with electrical load lists, preliminary figures of work to be performed, and basic instrumentation and control requirements.
Basis of Design Memorandum. Consultant shall prepare a Basis of Design (BOD) Memorandum to document technical and engineering decisions, which are then used as the basis for development of detailed design documents. The Technical Memorandum – ▇▇▇▇▇ Channel RCB Repair Assessment recommendations will serve as the basis for development of the BOD Memorandum. Consultant will document the decisions, recommendations, preliminary plans, site layout, and design criteria by engineering discipline established during the preliminary design phase into a BOD Memorandum. The BOD Memorandum will serve as a record of the decisions made during the preliminary design and provide the basis for detailed design. Consultant shall perform the following:
