Building Closures. Notwithstanding the above, if a building closes, an employee thereby may fill any vacant position in their classification series on the basis of seniority, consistent with Section A, above, and, if no such vacancy exists, said employee may bump the least senior employee in their classification series, on the basis of seniority.

Building Closures. The Employer provide prompt notice to the Union of any decision or plan to close, demolish or convert all or a substantial portion of a building.
Building Closures. A. Buildings will be identified for closure prior to the date that open positions are posted. The District will make every attempt to notify staff of a building closure prior to the internal posting period.
B. Teachers that are impacted by a school closure will be subject to the involuntary transfer procedures as outlined in this article and will be asked for their placement preference should the District have more than one placement available to which they qualify and allows for the least amount of staffing impacts.

In the event the Government declares a Code Red Building Closure, employees working on posts other than 24-hour posts shall not be required to man such posts unless the Government declares a building emergency. Those employees working on posts other than 24-hour posts who are allowed to go home shall be paid for the hours they would have [ILLEGIBLE] Government not declared a Code Red Building Closure.

The District will agree to use its automated telephone notification system to advise employees of school closings using the telephone numbers provided by employees to the Human Resources Department. The District will also publish to the Union a list of the television and radio stations that will be alerted to District closings due to inclement weather or another Act of God. When an employee has not received an automated call and when the radio and television stations have not broadcast a school closing, and the employee remains uncertain about whether school is open, the employee may call his or her supervisor for confirmation. If the buildings are closed due to weather or Act of God, but remote learning is taking place to count the day as a school day, employees will receive work they can do remotely in order to be paid for the day. If students are released early from a building during the school day but the building is not evacuated, employees shall remain and complete their regular workday. If a building is evacuated during an employee’s regular workday, the administrator will assign the employee to another worksite to complete his or her regular workday, or the employee will be released without further obligation or pay for the remainder of the day.
